Volunteer abroad fully funded this autumn: 30 European Solidarity Corps placements are open right now across fifteen countries, from Finland's Lapland to the coast of Ecuador. Every one is fully funded, so whether you are brand new or a returning volunteer, what the European Solidarity Corps is comes down to a simple promise, and yes, ESC volunteering really is fully funded: the EU pays young people to volunteer on solidarity projects, covering travel, accommodation, food, insurance and a monthly allowance. This is one of our biggest batches yet, and it is wonderfully varied. You could farm and forage on Spain's Atlantic coast, run science shows in Gdynia, sew costumes for a medieval festival in Italy, spend a year in Lapland, support schools in coastal Peru, or work behind the scenes of an alternative festival in Cologne. Two are ESC Volunteering Teams for those who prefer to arrive as part of a crew, and two, both in Peru, fall under the Humanitarian Aid strand, open up to age 35.
Whoever you are, something here fits. Drawn to children and education? There are kindergartens, schools and youth centres across Poland, Lithuania, Spain, France and Portugal. Into culture, arts and events? Krakรณw, Cologne, Eboli, Gdynia and Rovaniemi all want your creativity. Care about inclusion and solidarity? There are placements with people with disabilities, refugees, at-risk youth and communities in Peru and Ecuador. More of a nature and sustainability person? Organic farms, permaculture and food forests in Galicia and near Zaragoza are waiting, one even with a full Permaculture Design Course included. Most of these are standard ESC placements for ages 18 to 30, open to applicants from across Europe and its neighbours, though a few are reserved for particular countries, so read the eligibility line on each. If you have never done this before, you will need to register on the ESC Portal to apply, and a specific motivation letter is often what gets you selected. The deadlines run from now to the end of October, with four open on a rolling basis, so if a placement speaks to you, apply today.
