Your next fully funded ESC adventure could start this week. Fifteen European Solidarity Corps placements are open right now across nine countries, and the timing matters: several are open on a rolling basis so you can apply straight away, while a whole group closes tomorrow, on 24 August, so this is very much a now-or-never moment. Every one is fully funded, so if you have ever wondered what the European Solidarity Corps is or whether ESC volunteering is really fully funded, the short version is this: the EU pays young people to volunteer on solidarity projects, covering travel, accommodation, food, insurance and a monthly allowance. This batch is wonderfully varied. You could work on history, peace and permaculture at a meeting centre in Poland, lead your own community project with a youth NGO in Bulgaria, support youth and education on a university campus in Gaziantep, or join a leadership and changemaking training near the Spanish coast. Two of these are ESC Volunteering Teams, short group projects perfect if you would rather arrive as part of a crew, including reviving a countryside farmhouse in Piemonte with 16 others.
Whoever you are, something here fits. Drawn to education and youth work? There are placements in schools, youth centres and universities across Estonia, Tรผrkiye, Spain and the Netherlands. Into culture, media and communications? Coimbra, Blagoevgrad and Erzurum all want your creativity. More of a hands-on, outdoors person? The Piemonte farmhouse and the permaculture garden in Poland are made for you. All 15 are standard ESC placements for ages 18 to 30, open to applicants from across Europe and its neighbours, though a few are reserved for particular countries, so read the eligibility line on each before you apply. If you are brand new to this, you will need to register on the ESC Portal first. The most urgent thing is timing: if one of the 24 August placements speaks to you, apply today, because tomorrow it is gone.

Fifteen fully funded placements, nine countries, and a real chance to make this autumn count, but only if you move on the urgent ones now. If you scrolled this far, one of them already caught you, whether it was peace and permaculture in Poland, leading your own project in Bulgaria, youth work in Estonia or the Netherlands, communications in Coimbra, or reviving a farmhouse in Piemonte. Two things will shape your shortlist: eligibility and timing. All 15 are standard ESC for ages 18 to 30, but a few are reserved for particular countries, and durations range from six weeks to twelve months, so check each listing carefully. If you have never done this before, remember you will need to register on the ESC Portal to apply, and a specific, well-prepared motivation letter is often what gets you selected. On timing, the split is simple: eight are open on a rolling basis so apply as soon as you can, and seven close tomorrow, on 24 August, so for those it is genuinely now or never. Do one concrete thing today: pick the placement that fits you, open its link, check the dates and eligibility, and send your application. And if you want rounds like this to reach you the moment they open, join our broadcast channel through the link in our bio, where we share every new batch first.
