Volunteer abroad fully funded: 19 European Solidarity Corps placements are open right now across 10 countries, and this time the map stretches all the way to Central America. Every one is fully funded, covering your travel, accommodation, food, insurance and a monthly allowance. You could be designing fundraising campaigns for TECHO in Tegucigalpa, sharing daily life in a L'Arche community in Lithuania, joining an interdisciplinary art project in Germany, renovating a rural farmhouse in the Piedmont hills, learning blacksmithing and regenerative farming in a Slovak village, or producing independent radio in Padua. There is a strong run of social-care and inclusion work, a cluster of youth-centre and community placements, and a couple of genuinely rare ones, two humanitarian roles in Honduras among them. Wherever you want to go, there is probably a placement here shaped like your life.
Whoever you are, this batch has an angle. Drawn to care and inclusion? There are placements with children and adults with disabilities, at-risk kids, and young girls rebuilding their lives. Creative? There are graphic design, radio, media and interdisciplinary art roles. Hands-on and outdoorsy? There is farmhouse renovation, horses and traditional crafts, and scout-centre life in the Caucasus. Some placements are just a few weeks, others a full year, and a couple are team projects with a fixed start. Most welcome applicants from across Europe and its neighbours, but a few are reserved for residents of a single country, so read the eligibility line on each before you apply. These suit students, recent graduates, gap-year travellers and anyone between projects who wants a season abroad that means something.
Here is what fully funded means in the European Solidarity Corps: your travel is reimbursed up to a distance-based grant, and once you arrive your accommodation, food, local transport, insurance, language support and a mentor are all provided, with monthly pocket money set by the host country. You are not paying to volunteer. To take part you need to be aged 18 to 30 (18 to 35 for the Humanitarian Aid strand), legally resident in an eligible country, and registered on the ESC Portal. New to how it all works? Our full guide walks you through it, including exactly what is funded, at youthworkshub.org/esc. The list is ordered soonest-first, and several are already open on a rolling basis, so start at the top.

Nineteen fully funded ESC placements, ten countries, and a reach that runs from a Milan youth centre to a TECHO project in Tegucigalpa. If you read this far, one already caught you, whether it is the humanitarian work in Honduras, the deeply human care placements with people with disabilities in Lithuania and at-risk children in Spain, the creative pull of radio in Padua or an interdisciplinary art project in Germany, or the hands-on life of farmhouse renovation and traditional crafts in Italy and Slovakia. This round is especially rich for anyone drawn to inclusion and social care, but it has real depth for creatives and the outdoorsy too. The two things that shape your shortlist are duration and eligibility: some placements are a few weeks, others a full year, and while most welcome applicants from across Europe and its neighbours, a couple are open only to residents of a single country.
On timing, the list is ordered soonest-first for a reason. Several placements are already open on a rolling basis, the first dated deadline falls on 18 August, and the strongest projects fill as good candidates apply, so waiting rarely helps. If you are still unsure whether you meet the age, residence or ESC Portal requirements, or what exactly is covered, take five minutes with our complete guide at youthworkshub.org/esc
