๐Ÿ”ท Activity Details

Description

The Congregation of Buon Pastore has a very long story of commitment to the assistance of young girls and women. Its activity has always addressed the female world through the reception, education, and vocational training of the weakest, younger groups. In 2019 the Buon Pastore Cooperativa Sociale โ€“ Impresa Sociale was created. Now it runs two residential centers hosting and taking care of young girls and helping them in their independence and self-fulfillment and a center where they are taking care of single person-household with mothers and minors. The volunteers will be involved in: - Support the staff in the preparation of activities and in taking care about the space and the people. - Prepare with the staff activities during summer or free time and participate in the outdoor activities and trips. - Spending time in the center and living the girls daily, helping in taking care abuout space and people

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will live in Genova in a shared apartment with double/triple rooms. 6 euros per day of pocket money and food or a food allowance will be provided. The travel expenses will be reimbursed on the basis defined by the European Commission.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will participate in the training opportunities offered by the Italian National Agency (On Arrival Training, Mid Term Evaluation, and Final Evaluation). In addition, they will also take part in the training opportunities organized by association P.E.CO., together with the other volunteers involved in the activities of other Hosting Organizations in Genoa. They will also receive training in the Hosting Organization related to the target group they will work with.

Participant profile

REQUIRED AGE: 23 YO. The ideal volunteer is autonomous, mature and responsible, open to sharing and meeting other people, and, above all, motivated to join our activities. Volunteer should be able to assist with the educative and training process of Buon Pastore. Since it requires a delicate role in contact with young girls that often come from complex family situations, the volunteer should possess such qualities as high tolerance, patience, firmness, creativity, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
