🔷 Activity Details

Description

Kulturhaus Steinfurth is looking for two young people to join us for the interdisciplinary art project PALIMPSEST from September to December 2026. PALIMPSEST combines installation, projection, painting, dance, music, and electronic sound. At its core is the concept of "overwriting": images, roles, and perceptions shift, overlap, and reveal themselves anew. You won’t just be an assistant; you will become part of the artistic production process and have the opportunity to contribute your own ideas. You will experience the various phases of an independent cultural production—from preparation, rehearsals, and the premiere to the performances and documentation. Kulturhaus Steinfurth is a venue for art, music, and cultural exchange. You will work with artists from various disciplines and gain insight into artistic, technical, and organizational processes. Framework conditions

Applications will only be considered if you fill the form at: https://turbina-pomerania.org/esk

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will have the opportunity to live in an apartment of the cutural house. The railway station Karlsburg is 2 km from the Culture House, with the regional train Świnoujście and Berlin can be reached in a few hours, the university and Hanseatic city of Greifswald can be reached within 20 minutes, in addition, a bicycle is available for excursions.

You will get pocket money from the coordinating organisation, that is for your personal needs. You will get some extra lump sum for food and a monthly ticket for using public transport.

Training during the activity

You will participate in an on arrival training organised by the national agency and a German class.

Participant profile

You are between 18 and 30 years old and interested in art, performance, music, film, photography, or digital media. You are curious and reliable, and you enjoy working both independently and as part of a team. German language skills are preferrable, as much of the daily communication takes place in German. English skills are helpful. Prior artistic or technical experience is welcome but not a requirement.

Your Tasks:

- Assisting with the setup and execution of PALIMPSEST

- Supporting lighting, projection, sound, and media technology

- Documenting rehearsals, setup, and performances via photo and video

- Creating content for social media and the website

- Assisting with public relations and events

- Looking after artists and guests

- Researching project-related topics

- Helping out at the Kulturhaus and with other cultural events

- Your Own Project

During your stay, you can develop a small documentary or artistic project of your own—such as a short film, a photo series, interviews with artists, or a social media narrative about the creation of PALIMPSEST. We will support you in this and provide the space for you to bring in your own interests and skills.

Applications will only be considered if you fill the form at: https://turbina-pomerania.org/esk
