Description
Red Salmantica Global is a European Solidarity Corps project in Salamanca coordinated by Fundación Plan B Educación Social.
Different placements are available:
- Fundación Plan B Educación Social (https://planbeducacionsocial.com/), focused on youth work, social education and community development.
- Hogar Santa Teresa de Jesús, supporting children and young people in residential care
- ASPRODES Plena Inclusión (https://www.asprodes.es/), promoting inclusion and community participation with adults with disabilities
- Fundación AVIVA (https://www.avivasalamanca.org/), working with children, young people and adults with disabilities through inclusive and sports activities.
A great opportunity to live an international experience, improve Spanish, gain practical skills, take part in meaningful social projects and contribute with ideas, creativity and motivation to the local community.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation is provided in a shared volunteer house in Salamanca, with a private bedroom and shared kitchen, bathrooms and common areas.
A total of €350 per month is provided for pocket money and food expenses. ç
Local transport is supported with a bicycle and a city bus pass.
Travel to and from Salamanca is covered within the European Solidarity Corps travel budget and rules.
Training during the activity
Official on-arrival and mid-term training is provided through the European Solidarity Corps and organised by the Spanish National Agency.
Regular support is also offered by the coordinating and hosting teams and a mentor.
Weekly face-to-face Spanish classes and online language support are included.
During the project, specific courses and training may also be offered to gain deeper knowledge and specialise in the field connected to the volunteering placement.
Participant profile
Motivation, openness and willingness to learn are essential. An active, flexible, responsible and respectful attitude is expected, together with interest in social education, inclusion and community work. Patience, empathy and teamwork are especially important when working with children, young people or people with disabilities.
Previous experience is not required, but spoken Spanish is important in order to communicate in daily activities and fully take part in the project.
