Eleven Erasmus+ training courses for youth workers are open right now across ten countries, and every deadline falls between today and 2 October. Travel, accommodation and food are covered on all of them under the Erasmus+ youth mobility rules, which means the real cost of attending is a week of your time. The themes are unusually varied for a batch this size: circus pedagogy in Czechia, stop motion animation in Poland, feminist leadership in Belgium, decolonial global education in Switzerland, and a mental health toolkit built from scratch in the Netherlands. One course is not a single week at all but a year long journey with two residential phases and your own local project in between. At Youth Works Hub we read each call in full before publishing it, so the eligibility lines below are the ones the organisers actually wrote, not a summary. Six stand out. The Austrian course is the most demanding and the most rewarding: one application covers a training course in October 2026, an integration phase at home where you run a needs assessment with young people, a second course in February 2027 and your own local Cohesion Action from March, with the same group throughout. It has no fixed deadline, only five seats per country and a first come rule, so it is effectively the most urgent item here. Belgium is running two very different courses, one on co-creating physical spaces with young people including field visits in Brussels, the other on feminist leadership with priority given to Roma women and women facing discrimination. Luxembourg teaches you to turn an idea into a real European Solidarity Corps application, which is worth taking if you have ever looked at what a Solidarity Project actually is and not known where to start. Croatia covers digital youth work in ESC projects, including DigComp, media literacy and the ethical use of AI. And the Dutch course has participants co-create a practical mental health toolkit addressing stress, anxiety and burnout in young people, which is the kind of output you can use the week you get home.
Check the eligibility line before you get attached to a course, because it swings wildly in this batch. Four courses accept applicants from more than thirty countries and two accept more than fifty. Switzerland is open worldwide. But the Austrian course takes only residents of Austria and Slovakia, the Czech circus pedagogy course takes only residents of Slovenia, and the Dutch mental health course takes only the Netherlands and Serbia. Three of the eleven are therefore closed to most readers, and there is no point writing a motivation letter for those unless you happen to live in the right country. According to the European Commission, Erasmus+ mobility of youth workers (KA153) funds these courses through the host organisation's grant: your accommodation, your food and all activity costs are covered for the duration, and your travel is reimbursed through fixed distance band contributions rather than as a ticket refund. None of the eleven courses in this batch asks for a participation fee. The Austrian two phase programme states explicitly that participation, accommodation and full board are covered and travel is reimbursed within Erasmus+ limits for both phases, which matters because it is two separate journeys rather than one. There is no salary and no per diem beyond what the host provides. Every participant who completes a course is entitled to a Youthpass certificate documenting what they learned.

Co-create a practical mental health toolkit for youth work, building skills in resilience, peer support and non-formal education. Work alongside fellow youth workers to design tools addressing stress, anxiety and burnout in young people. Open to applicants from the Netherlands and Serbia only.
Ten countries and eleven courses, with the whole batch closing inside eleven days. Belgium carries two, every other country one. The clearest way to choose is by what you want to be able to do afterwards rather than by where you want to go. If you want a concrete method to take back to your group, Czechia gives you circus pedagogy, Poland gives you stop motion animation and Sweden gives you peer learning practices from across Europe. If you want a document you can use, the Netherlands sends you home with a mental health toolkit you helped build and Bulgaria gives you inclusion audit tools you can run in your own organisation. If you want organisational capacity, Luxembourg walks you from idea to submitted Solidarity Project application and Croatia covers the digital side of running ESC projects, including how to use AI without pretending the ethics are simple. And if you want depth rather than breadth, Austria is offering a year long two phase programme with a real local action in the middle.
The calendar is short and front loaded. Austria has no date at all, just five seats per country on a first come basis, which makes it the most urgent listing despite looking like the most relaxed. Two courses close on 29 September, three on 30 September, three on 1 October and two on 2 October. That means every application in this batch needs to be finished this week or at the very start of next. Selection sits with the host organisation and its National Agency, and both read for fit: a letter that names what you do with young people right now and what you would do differently after the course beats a letter that praises the topic, which is the pattern behind ten practical tips for a stronger application.
Three of these eleven are effectively closed unless you live in Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Netherlands or Serbia, so start by ruling those in or out. The other eight are open widely, and the Swiss course is open worldwide. Whatever you attend, you finish with a Youthpass certificate, the official recognition tool of the Erasmus+ youth programme, and after three or four of them you have a documented professional profile rather than a folder of travel photos.
