At Youth Works Hub we read every call in full before publishing, and this batch is unusually heavy: sixteen fully funded Erasmus+ training courses, eleven countries, and almost half of them closing inside a single week. Italy hosts four, Spain three, Türkiye two, and Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, France, Greece, Latvia and Serbia one each. Travel, accommodation and food are covered on all but one under the Erasmus+ youth mobility rules, so the real cost of attending is a week of your time. What makes this batch different from the usual mix is the subject matter: protection, safeguarding and inclusion run through more than half of it. If the format is new to you, what an Erasmus+ Training Course actually involves is the five minute version.
Eight are worth opening before the rest. Italy is running a course on preventing gender based violence and supporting victims, built around organisations swapping protocols and writing guidelines that make partnerships genuinely safer. Türkiye tackles digital violence directly: cyberbullying, online harassment, hate speech and deepfakes, taught through role plays, case studies and forum theatre rather than lectures. Serbia is for European Solidarity Corps organisations holding a Quality Label, and you leave with a written safeguarding policy rather than notes about one. Austria runs a project lab for youth work with Deaf and hard of hearing young people, covering accessibility and how to secure funding for it. France takes apart the loudest narratives told about migration and rebuilds them using art and popular education. The Italian Euromediterranean course opens to Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia, Lebanon and 38 more countries, which is the widest door in this batch. Latvia puts dreamwork, embodiment and storytelling into a snowy forest and asks you to try the methods on yourself first. And the second Italian inclusion course in Liguria is the most detailed call we have seen this month: 24 youth workers from 6 countries, seven working days, a facilitation session you run yourself, a Youthpass drafted from your own evidence, and three months of mentoring afterwards.
Check eligibility before you get attached to anything, because this batch swings hard. Six courses open to thirty or more countries and the Euromediterranean one reaches forty three. But three are effectively closed to most readers: the Spanish intergenerational course takes residents of Germany only, the Estonian municipal study visit takes only Denmark, Estonia and Sweden, and the Türkiye digital violence course takes only France and the Netherlands. One course also charges a participation fee, which is rare in this programme and stated plainly in the listing below. Everything else runs on the host organisation's grant, and what Erasmus+ covers financially explains the distance bands so you know what lands in your account and what does not.
Funding
According to the European Commission, Erasmus+ mobility of youth workers (KA153) funds these courses through the host organisation's grant: accommodation, food and all activity costs are covered for the duration, and travel is reimbursed through fixed distance band contributions rather than as a ticket refund. The Italian course in Liguria states its terms in full: no participation fee, accommodation and all meals covered, travel reimbursed within Erasmus+ limits. Develop your youth project idea and learn how to secure Erasmus+ or European Solidarity Corps funding for projects involving Deaf and hard of hearing young people. You arrive with an idea and get hands-on support choosing the right funding format and improving accessibility, plus networking with like-minded organisations. Open to applicants from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland and 29 more.
Eleven countries, seventeen courses, and a batch that reads less like a training calendar and more like a curriculum in protection. More than half of these courses are about keeping young people safe: gender based violence prevention in Italy, digital violence in Türkiye, safeguarding policy in Serbia, accessibility for Deaf young people in Austria, and two separate Italian courses on reaching the young people nobody else reaches. Alongside that sit the softer skills that make the hard work possible: storytelling in Bulgaria, mentoring in Greece, digital wellbeing in Spain, dreamwork in Latvia. Italy carries four of the seventeen, Spain three, Türkiye two, and the remaining eight countries one each.
Choose by what your organisation is missing rather than by where you want to go. If you host European Solidarity Corps volunteers, Serbia and Greece are the two that change how you operate: one gives you a written safeguarding policy, the other fixes mentoring that has been improvised until now. If you want to lead rather than join an Erasmus+ project, Albania covers KA154 and Austria covers funding formats for Deaf youth work. If your problem is reach, both Italian inclusion courses are built around the young people you are not getting to, and the Liguria one comes with three months of mentoring after the week ends. If you want the widest door, the Euromediterranean course in Italy opens to 43 countries. And if you are the one who needs looking after, Spain's digital wellbeing course starts with your own relationship with screens rather than anyone else's.
Timing decides most of this. One course closes on 29 September, two on 1 October, two on 2 October, one on 3 October, then six close together on 4 October, two on 5 October, two on 11 October and one on 15 October. That means eleven of the seventeen need an application finished inside a week. Three are restricted to one, two or three countries, so rule those in or out first and save yourself the evening. Selection sits with the host organisation and its National Agency, and both read for fit: a letter naming what you do with young people now and what you would do differently afterwards beats a letter praising the topic, which is the pattern behind ten practical tips for a stronger application. Whatever you attend, you finish with a Youthpass certificate, and three or four of those turn scattered weeks abroad into a documented professional profile.
