The PBA aims to expand knowledge and practices relating to the prevention of gender-based violence, and to improve the ability to handle cases of violence and abuse, in order to provide better support to victims.

The activity aims to bring together organisations looking to expand their knowledge of gender-based violence prevention, with the goal of identifying ways and tools to address the issue with young people. At the same time, as violence and abuse are increasingly reported in projects involving young people, the activity aims to bring together organisations with experience in handling such cases, so they can share information and measures for supporting victims.

The activity is aimed at organisations interested in developing policies for safer partnerships, built on clear educational standards and specific preventive measures, as well as guidelines for preventing and managing cases of violence. Starting from how the phenomenon is perceived and addressed in each country, and an analysis of needs, participants will work together to develop policy ideas and guidelines that better prepare those working with young people to handle such situations. Participating organisations will also have the opportunity to build further cooperation for future projects addressing the prevention of gender-based violence.

The partnership-building activity will address the following objectives: Reflect on common policies existing or to be adopted Share existing tools on preventing GBV to be adapted or replicated Share good practices, protocols and intervention methods for tackling cases of violence and abuse and for supporting victims Explore the need for common advocacy Build up partnership for future cooperation Establish contact with specialist services at local level

Profile of Organisation and participants Organisations suitable for this partnership-building activity are those with experience of working to prevent gender-based violence and support victims who want to help develop guidelines and policies to build more reliable partnerships and empower practitioners working with youngsters to handle cases of violence and support victims. We are also looking for organisations that can contribute by sharing the tools and practices they use with young people in their own community for tackling GBV and related issues. The participation also includes organisations that wish to start working on preventing GBV and need to gain more knowledge and tools. Profile of participants: The activity will involve 26 people among youth workers, educators, teachers, social workers, and young journalists aged 18 or over who have experience in the youth field.
