A 5-day Erasmus+ training in Batman/Türkiye empowering youth workers to recognise, prevent and respond to digital violence through non-formal education, practical tools, case studies, digital storytelling and intercultural learning.

e-SHIELD – Training Course on Digital Violence is a 5-day Erasmus+ training course designed for youth workers, youth leaders, educators, volunteers and other practitioners actively involved in youth work and non-formal learning.

The training aims to strengthen participants’ capacity to recognise, prevent and respond to different forms of digital violence affecting young people, including cyberbullying, online harassment, hate speech, digital partner violence and emerging risks such as AI-generated harassment, deepfakes and violence in virtual environments.

The programme is based primarily on non-formal education and experiential learning. Rather than relying on traditional lectures, participants will actively engage in role plays, case studies, simulations, forum theatre, group discussions, digital storytelling, practical exercises and intercultural teamwork. Expert inputs will be combined with opportunities to reflect on real situations encountered in youth work and to develop practical responses.

A particular focus will be placed on equipping youth workers with methods and tools that can be directly transferred to their work with young people. Participants will explore how to facilitate activities on digital safety, recognise signs of online violence, support young people experiencing digital harassment and create engaging awareness activities and campaigns.

The training will also provide an international learning environment where participants can exchange practices and experiences from different European contexts, work collaboratively and reflect on the gender and inclusion dimensions of digital violence.

By the end of the course, participants will develop ideas for awareness activities, contribute to project tools and prepare an action plan for transferring their learning to their organisations and local communities.

The course is particularly targeted at applicants who are actively working with young people through non-formal learning and youth work and who are motivated to use and multiply the acquired competences after the training.

Accommodation and food

Yes. Accommodation, meals and programme-related costs will be fully organised and covered by SEHA for the entire duration of the training. Participants will stay in shared double rooms with another participant. Therefore, there is no accommodation or food fee to be paid by participants.

Travel reimbursement

Yes. Travel costs will be reimbursed at 100% of the eligible actual travel expenses, up to the maximum amount allocated per participant according to the country of departure: France – €580, Lithuania – €395, the Netherlands – €580, Spain – €1,188, and Türkiye – €56. Participants must contact the organisers and receive confirmation before purchasing their tickets. Reimbursement will be made on the last day of the training upon submission of all required invoices, original tickets and boarding passes. Costs exceeding the maximum allocated travel budget cannot be reimbursed. Accommodation, food and programme costs will be covered by SEHA.
