PhEU is a training course exploring Europe through philosophical dialogue, non-formal education and experiential learning, equipping youth workers with tools to boost critical thinking, democratic participation and active citizenship among young people.

PhEU – Philosophize EU (21st - 30th October, travel days included) is an Erasmus+ training course for youthworkers who want to explore what Europe means today and how philosophical dialogue can support critical thinking, democratic participation and active citizenship among young people.

The project aims to: explore Europe as a philosophical, historical and ethical project; strengthen youth workers’ understanding of European values, human rights and citizenship; develop skills to facilitate dialogue on complex and sensitive topics; learn how to manage conflicting opinions and polarization constructively; provide practical methods to foster critical thinking and participation among young people.

The training will be based on non-formal education, experiential learning and philosophical practice.

Participants will take part in: team-building and reflection on personal and European values; philosophical dialogue and different debate methodologies; systemic consensing and Nonviolent Communication; simulations, role-playing and LARP-inspired activities; activities on European history, values, human rights and citizenship; activities connected to the Youth Work Agenda.

Throughout the course, participants will reflect on how these methods can be adapted and used in their own youth-work contexts.

The final part of the training will focus on transferring the learning into practice. Participants will work together to create an open educational toolkit with practical, ready-to-use activities that can later be adapted and tested with young people in their local communities.
