๐ŸŒŸ About the Opportunity

This ESC volunteering experience takes place at Altรฉrez-Vous, a vibrant citizen cafรฉ-restaurant and social cooperative in Louvain-la-Neuve ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช. Known for its warm atmosphere, socially responsible consumption, and strong focus on civic engagement, the cafรฉ brings together students, locals, artists, activists, and community members. It is a meeting place for creativity, sustainability, cultural exchange, and collective awareness. Volunteers become part of an inspiring, youth-driven environment where culture and social impact meet every day.

๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŽถ Main Activities

Volunteers will take part in a rich variety of creative, cultural and social responsibilities, including:
โœจ Helping organise and promote events (board game nights, concerts, open stages, workshops, discussion groups)
๐Ÿ“ธ Taking photos, promoting activities on social media, especially Facebook
๐ŸŽญ Supporting thematic soirรฉes, cultural evenings, and exhibitions
๐ŸŒ Assisting with intercultural activities and designing new event ideas
๐Ÿ’ฌ Supporting the cafรฉโ€™s mission of raising awareness on social issues
๐Ÿฅ— Contributing to responsible consumption initiatives (local, seasonal, organic, fair-trade products)
๐Ÿ“ Helping with content writing, visual materials, communication and storytelling

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys culture, design, photography, social impact, activism, and community building.

๐Ÿก Accommodation, Food & Transport

Volunteers will be hosted:
๐Ÿ  Either in a shared flat with other people
๐Ÿ˜๏ธ Or in a private room with a local host family
Louvain-la-Neuve is a fully pedestrian student city, meaning:
๐Ÿšถ Everything is reachable by foot
๐ŸšŒ No need for public transport to reach the cafรฉ
๐Ÿงบ Volunteers receive monthly food allowance + pocket money

๐ŸŽ“ Training & Learning

Volunteers will participate in:
๐Ÿ“˜ On-Arrival Training by the National Agency
๐Ÿ“™ Mid-Term Training
And will receive continuous support for developing communication, event management, photography and social engagement skills.

The ideal volunteer is someone who:

๐ŸŽจ Has a strong interest in communication, photography, content creation, or event promotion
๐Ÿ“š Enjoys writing, storytelling, or supporting workshops
๐Ÿค Is flexible, open-minded, organised, autonomous, dynamic and joyful
๐ŸŒ Has team spirit, adaptability, and initiative
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Speaks French fluently (a strong advantage)
โœจ Bonus: Experience in project management, event animation, or cultural activities
