🇵🇱 Erasmus+ Training Course in Poland 🏔️ Preparedness, Crisis Readiness & ESC Trainer Competences in the Polish Mountains 🐉

The word “preparedness” gets used a lot. But what does it actually mean to be ready — and to prepare others? This trainer workshop is not about ticking a box. It is a space to ask uncomfortable questions, challenge assumptions, and figure out what tools and competencies ESC trainers really need when it counts.

SALTO EECA, in cooperation with the Polish National Agency, is organising TOP: Trainers’ Workshop on Preparedness — a 5-day intensive training course taking place in Korbielów, Poland, in the Beskid Żywiecki mountains, from 24 to 29 August 2026. The course brings together 22 trainers and ESC professionals from both Programme Countries and Partner Countries Neighbouring the EU.

What Is This Training About?

The workshop develops trainers’ skills and competencies in building a culture of preparedness among European Solidarity Corps volunteers and communities. It explores the role of ESC trainers within the Preparedness Union Strategy and looks at practical tools for supporting young people and local communities in times of crisis — with a particular focus on partner countries where social resilience and solidarity matter most in the context of geopolitical challenges.

The setting — Polish mountains, outdoor methods, and a light hike in Beskid Żywiecki — is not incidental. The programme combines structured reflection with experiential and outdoor learning, because preparedness is not just a theoretical concept.

Objectives

🧠 Developing trainers’ competences in building a culture of preparedness among ESC stakeholders

🔍 Exploring the role of trainers within the Preparedness Union Strategy and ESC Action Priorities

🛠️ Experiencing and sharing practical tools to support young people and local communities in getting ready and responding to crises

🌍 Learning from partner countries’ realities to strengthen solidarity and civic engagement

Who Should Apply?

This workshop is specifically designed for trainers working with ESC volunteers — not for general participants.

🔹 TEC trainers working with National Agencies and regional SALTOs

🔹 Trainers active in supporting or hosting organisations in ESC

🔹 Project coordinators and mentors working within the ESC framework

🔹 At least 18 years old and able to work in English

🔹 Ready to stay outdoors and participate in a light hike in Beskid Żywiecki
