🌟 Opportunity Overview
This European Solidarity Corps individual volunteering opportunity is hosted by Vitadacani – Associazione a tutela dei diritti animali, coordinated by NO BORDERS, and based in Arese, Italy 🇮🇹. Vitadacani is an animal rights activist organisation dedicated to the protection, care, and wellbeing of rescued animals—especially dogs—and to promoting ethical treatment and awareness around animal rights.
Volunteers will live close to the shelter environment and be deeply involved in the daily care of animals, advocacy activities, and communication efforts.

🎯 Main Activities & Responsibilities
🐕 Take daily care of dogs in the shelter, including feeding and long walks
🧼 Clean dogs, sleeping areas, and the shelter territory
🧠 Get to know each animal’s personality and special needs
🐄 Support care activities for rescued farm animals in Magnago
📣 Help organise animal rights events and awareness activities
📱 Support social media communication and basic website maintenance

🏠 Accommodation, Food & Local Transport
🏡 Shared double room in an apartment for four volunteers
💶 €6 per day pocket money
🍽️ €110 per month food allowance + lunch provided on working days
🥗 Vegan diet required while working at the shelter (free choice outside working hours)
🌱 Volunteers should be ready to live in a small town, around 1 hour from a big city

📚 Training & Support During the Activity
🎓 Official On-Arrival Training organised by the National Agency
🐾 Task-specific training on animal care, hygiene, safety, and communication

👤 Participant Profile
✔️ Available for the entire project period
✔️ Strong love for animals, especially dogs
✔️ Background or experience in veterinary studies, biology, shelters, pet-sitting, or animal care is highly valued
✔️ Physically ready for hands-on work, early mornings, cleaning, outdoor tasks, and long walks
✔️ Comfortable living immersed in shelter life and animals 24/7
✔️ Open-minded, enthusiastic, and willing to adapt to antispeciesism and vegan values during activities
✔️ Interest in TikTok, Instagram, and social media is a plus
✔️ Motivated to learn Italian
✔️ CV and motivation letter must be in English
