A lovers’ path winding through the Luchon Valley in the Pyrenees mountains. A 1.3km trail waiting to be beautified. Wooden benches to build. A small bridge to construct. A traditional stone calade to lay. And awareness materials about local flora and fauna to create. Association Concordia is offering an ESC team volunteering placement in the village of Jurvielle — a green, creative, and hands-on two-week experience in one of France’s most spectacular mountain landscapes.
🏔️ About the Project
The village of Jurvielle, a local NGO, and the Pyrenees National Park are working together to restore and enhance a beloved mountain path. The volunteers’ mission is to beautify and improve access to this trail — combining practical construction work with creative environmental communication. Experienced leaders will guide all techniques throughout the project.
📋 What You’ll Do
🪧 Create materials to raise public awareness about local flora and fauna
🪑 Build outdoor furniture — tables and wooden benches
🗺️ Re-mark the path to improve visibility and accessibility
🌉 Build a small wooden bridge
🪨 Create a calade — a traditional stone path typical of the Pyrenees region
🌿 Contribute creatively — let your imagination and ideas flow throughout the project
🏠 Accommodation
🛏️ Permanent accommodation with access to toilets and showers
🛌 Single-gender or gender-mixed dormitories — your choice
🎒 Bring your own sleeping bag and pillow
🍳 Access to a kitchen and common room — shared with the group (normally belonging to the village hunting NGO)
🧹 The group shares cleaning chores and meal preparation using local products
