🇧🇬 ESC Volunteering in Bulgaria 🌱 Roots Awakening 2.0: Eco-Building, Permaculture and Community Development at Amorea Garden 🏡

Eco-building with natural materials. Permaculture gardening. A botanical garden being built from scratch. And a small eco-community in rural Bulgaria working together towards genuine self-sufficiency. Association “Hope for Us-2008” is offering a short-term ESC volunteering placement at Amorea Garden Eco-Hub in Bunovo village — a hands-on, green-skills-focused experience for young people ready to live simply and work meaningfully.

🌿 About the Project

“Roots Awakening Vol. 2” supports the development of individuals and communities through short-term ESC volunteering. The programme focuses on green skills, personal development, physical and mental health, entrepreneurial competences, and support for the local eco-community. Volunteers live and work at the Amorea Garden Eco-Hub — a renovated, cosy ecological centre in Bunovo village in the mountains near Sofia.

📋 What You’ll Do

🏗️ Participate in eco-building projects using natural materials and traditional building techniques

🌱 Learn to build soil, grow, and preserve organic fruits and vegetables using permaculture principles

🌸 Help build the infrastructure for a botanical garden — contributing to conservation of local plant species

🤝 Participate in community building activities with the local eco-community

🌿 Contribute to environmental conservation activities and eco-centre infrastructure maintenance

🏕️ Accommodation and Food

🛏️ Cosy and comfortable dormitories at the Amorea Garden Eco-Hub

🚿 Outdoor compost toilets and solar showers

🍳 Well-equipped outdoor kitchen available for volunteers

🚌 Access to public transport from Sofia to Bunovo and surrounding areas

✅ Accommodation, food, and transport fully funded

💶 €7 per day pocket money

👤 Who Should Apply

Applicants must be aged 18–30 and willing to commit for the full 59 days. They should:

🌍 Have a genuine interest in environmental initiatives and community development

🏕️ Be able to adapt to rural and healthy living conditions

✅ No previous experience required — equal opportunities for all candidates

⚠️ For this opportunity, participants must not require a visa to enter Bulgaria — the project starts soon and there is no time for visa processing
