Join the DYPALL Network – Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Participação Cidadã in Portimão, Portugal, and take part in an inspiring 12-month volunteering experience that empowers young people to take action in their communities.

The project “Youth in Action V” focuses on youth participation, civic engagement, and democratic values. As part of a European network of civil society organisations, municipalities, and research institutions, you’ll contribute to projects that strengthen local democracy and active citizenship across Europe.

This ESC experience is ideal for young people passionate about youth work, non-formal education, and community participation — a unique chance to work with international partners and see how youth policy is shaped at the European level.

🤝 Volunteer Tasks & Responsibilities

The selected volunteer will support the Project Management Department in key areas of DYPALL’s work, including:

• Assisting with EU-funded youth projects on participation, mobility, and inclusion
• Supporting the design, coordination, and implementation of international activities and events
• Helping prepare project applications, reports, and partner communications
• Managing event logistics, from registrations to materials and online promotion
• Participating in non-formal educational activities with young people and local partners

This role offers a chance to gain hands-on project management experience in the EU youth sector while being part of an active, international NGO network.

🍽️ Accommodation, Food & Allowances

• 🏠 Accommodation in a rented apartment near the city centre, with private or shared room, kitchen, and Wi-Fi.
• 💶 Monthly food allowance and pocket money: €310 total.
• 🚍 Transport support for work-related travel.

🧠 Training & Mentorship

• Pre-departure preparation with your sending organisation (online or in person).
• On-arrival and mid-term training by the Portuguese National Agency.
• Ongoing mentoring and evaluation sessions by the DYPALL Network team.
• Internal workshops on project management, youth work, and intercultural communication.

👥 Participant Profile

We’re looking for a motivated volunteer aged 18–30 who is:

• Passionate about youth participation and civic engagement
• Responsible, proactive, and eager to learn
• Comfortable working in a multicultural, international environment
• Interested in project management and communication
• Open to new experiences and teamwork

Priority will be given to volunteers facing fewer opportunities or long-term unemployment.
