The Werkstatt Wilhelmshaven offers diverse work and activity areas including metal & wood workshops, gardening, daily care programmes, and community leisure activities — all aimed at promoting inclusion and participation in everyday life. ✨

🧡 What You Will Do

Your main tasks take place in the Tagesförderstätte, where individuals with high support needs receive care, structure, and meaningful daily activities:

💛 Accompanying & supporting participants during daily routines
🧼 Assisting with basic care and personal hygiene
🍽️ Helping during meals
🏡 Supporting household tasks such as meal prep & keeping the group space organized
🎨 Contributing ideas for activities, games, creativity, and community building
🤝 Encouraging skill development through daily tasks and work orders

You will become part of a caring, supportive environment where every small contribution creates a positive impact.

🏠 Accommodation, Food & Local Support

🇩🇪 You will be part of a group of 8 international volunteers spending one year together.
🏘️ Volunteers live across three shared apartments in the city.
🤝 A local volunteer mentor will help you explore cultural life: museums, theatre, events, the seaside, and nearby cities.
🚆 You will receive a Deutschlandticket every month, allowing free travel across Germany — explore Hamburg, Bremen, and beyond!

Upon arrival, you’ll receive all necessary information about supermarkets, daily logistics, and settling into life in Wilhelmshaven.

📚 Training & Mentoring

👩‍🏫 Full guidance by qualified workplace trainers
👨‍🏫 A personal mentor from the volunteering department
🎓 Participation in German seminars with local volunteers
