As a Volunteer Coordinator, youโll take on a key role in the Startpunt Project, which provides socio-legal information to people seeking international protection.
This position combines leadership, coordination, and field engagement, offering a unique opportunity to empower others while contributing to social justice and inclusion. ๐โ๏ธ
Your daily mission will include:
๐งฉ Coordinating and supporting a team of 40 active volunteers
๐ฌ Providing legal information and follow-up to asylum seekers
๐๏ธ Organising training sessions, team-building events, and planning schedules
๐ Preparing reports and collecting data on asylum and migration issues
๐ Staying up to date on migration law and translating insights into practical tools

๐ก Accommodation, Food & Travel
- Monthly organisational support:ย โฌ1,095ย (to cover accommodation and food).
- Monthly personal allowance:ย โฌ182.50.
- Youโll choose your own accommodation โ the organisation will guide you through local housing options in Brussels. ๐๏ธ
- Home-to-office travel costs are covered (the office is only 5 minutes from the city centre). ๐

- Intercultural training provided byย JINT, the Belgian ESC Agency ๐ง๐ช
- Continuousย internal trainingsย on asylum law, project management, and volunteer coordination.
- Access toย external workshopsย throughout the year for personal and professional growth.
- Regular mentoring and evaluation sessions to support your development. ๐ฑ
๐ฉโ๐ผ Participant Profile
The ideal candidate is someone who:

Has an educational background in social sciences, law, migration studies, or related fields
โ
Has experience in volunteer management or community engagement
โ
Shows genuine commitment to human rights and refugee protection
โ
Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills
โ
Is able to work independently while being a team player
โ
Has excellent English (spoken & written); other languages are an asset

Meets ESC eligibility criteria
