About the Opportunity
This United Nations internship is offered by the Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) within the UN Secretariat. The role focuses on online course moderation, administrative coordination, and policy-related learning activities connected to Africaโs development priorities. The internship is designed as full-time (35 hours/week) and in-person, with flexibility for remote or hybrid arrangements upon request.
Internship Role and Responsibilities
๐ฅ๏ธ Monitor online course discussions and participant queries
๐ ๏ธ Identify and flag technical issues to relevant UN technical teams
๐ Support the review and assessment of participant submissions using analytical frameworks
๐ Help evaluate activity responses for quality and alignment with course objectives
๐๏ธ Organise, categorise, and document participant contributions
๐ Prepare summaries on engagement patterns, themes, and moderation outcomes
๐ Contribute to improving moderation processes and guidance materials
Who Can Apply?
๐ Applicants who are:
๐ Enrolled in or have completed a graduate programme (Masterโs level or higher), or
๐ Enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a Bachelorโs degree
๐ง Field of study relevant to administration, policy, international relations, development, or related areas
๐ผ No prior professional experience required
Language Requirements
๐ฃ๏ธ Fluent English required
๐ซ๐ท French desirable
๐ Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage
Additional Preferred Background
๐ Familiarity with online course or learning platforms
๐ Experience applying analytical or policy frameworks
๐ฑ Interest or familiarity with African development contexts
Internship Conditions
โณ Duration: Approximately 6 months
