KERIC is offering an ESC Humanitarian Aid Volunteering placement with CSDS Vietnam for a motivated coordinator ready to make a real and lasting impact on youth empowerment in one of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant cities.
๐ข About the Project
The project aims to empower local youth with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world. The volunteer will work as a planner, implementer, and evaluator of leadership training courses and intercultural activities at a local youth knowledge hub in Hanoi, supported by the CSDS staff team throughout.
๐ฏ The Role
This is a substantive coordination role โ not a passive support position. You’ll be designing and delivering workshops, managing a youth hub, creating media content, and every four months travelling to local communities to organise activities specifically for ethnic youth.
๐ What You’ll Do
๐๏ธ Organise and maintain resources at a local youth hub
๐ Plan and deliver interactive workshops on leadership, communication, self-identity, languages, and interculture
๐ Design, promote, and deliver training courses on Leadership and Global Connect for groups of 10โ30 local youth
๐ Monitor and evaluate the impact of workshops and activities
๐ฑ Prepare media posts and videos about project activities
๐ Every 4 months: field trips to local communities to organise activities for ethnic youth
๐ What the Project Provides
๐ Accommodation in the volunteer house โ twin room shared with one other volunteer of the same gender. Free WiFi, hot water, air conditioning and fans
๐ฝ๏ธ Food provided 3 times a day, Monday to Sunday except Saturday โ prepared by a house nanny. Kitchen with basic utensils available for personal use
๐ Monthly bus pass
๐ฃ๏ธ Vietnamese language lessons throughout the placement
๐งญ 5-day On Arrival Training covering Vietnamese culture, life, and work style โ plus city tours and culture immersion events
๐ฅ A team of youthful and active staff and local volunteers as supporters and mentors
๐๏ธ Visits to NGOs and associations working on youth empowerment in Vietnam
โ Eligibility Requirements
This is a Humanitarian Aid Volunteering placement with specific eligibility criteria:
๐ Aged 18โ35
๐ Must reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Tรผrkiye)
โ Must have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training before applying
๐ซ Must not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering
โฑ๏ธ Total duration of this and any previous EU volunteering must not exceed 12 months in combination
๐ค Ideal Candidate Profile
๐๏ธ Project coordination skills โ planning workshops, organising volunteers, managing tasks
๐ช Event organisation โ event planning, problem-solving, and adaptability
๐ Educational experience โ teaching or facilitating workshops for children and youth, including creating educational content, games, or interactive materials
๐ป Digital literacy โ ability to create visual materials, presentations, and social media content
๐ค Flexibility, creativity, friendliness, strong communication skills, and genuine leadership initiative
