Avrupa Gençlik Eğitim ve Spor Derneği (AGESDER) is an association based in Niğde, Turkey, actively working with young people across youth information, social inclusion, and equal opportunities. Their goal with this placement is straightforward: bring a European perspective into local activities and give young volunteers the space to actually contribute — not just observe.

What Is This Role About?

AGESDER runs a wide range of activities in their province and is now opening their doors to an ESC volunteer who can add value through language, creativity, and community engagement. The focus areas are youth information, fighting discrimination, and expanding opportunities for women, young people, and people with disabilities.

This is a hands-on role. You will not be sitting in the back of the room — you will be running clubs, creating content, and designing your own activities.

🗣️ Organising an English Speaking Club — and optionally activities in your own language

📱 Creating social media content for AGESDER’s English learning Instagram account

🎭 Preparing your own activities in areas you are passionate about — arts and culture, sustainable development, work life, book or movie clubs

🤝 Participating in social responsibility activities within the community

Accommodation, Food & Transport

AGESDER covers all the basics so you can focus on the work itself.

🏠 Volunteers stay in an apartment located approximately 15 minutes by bus from the office

🍽️ Food and transport are fully covered by the project

🚿 The working space includes a kitchen and bathroom — same conditions as AGESDER staff

🏥 Medical care is available in Niğde and the association actively works to ensure volunteer wellbeing

📞 AGESDER commits to maintaining open communication with the volunteer and their sending organisation to prevent and manage any potential issues
