🌍 About the Project

Are you passionate about working with young people, supporting faith-based initiatives, and gaining meaningful international experience? The “Volunteering in Catholic Community” project hosted by VIAC – Institute for Youth Support and Development in Trstená, Slovakia, offers an inspiring environment where culture, community, and values come together.

This European Solidarity Corps (ESC) opportunity gives volunteers the chance to contribute to youth empowerment, intercultural learning, and creative media work — all within a Christian Catholic context. You’ll engage with local youth, develop educational and cultural activities, and promote solidarity and mutual respect in the community. 🌍💬

💪 What You Will Do

As a volunteer, you’ll support VIAC’s ongoing youth and community projects, combining creativity, teamwork, and service:

• 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Youth Work & Mentorship – Assist in organising activities for local youth, educational sessions, and cultural exchanges.
• 🎥 Creative Communication – Produce content like short videos, posters, or articles that promote VIAC’s mission and activities.
• 🙏 Faith-Based Engagement – Support community events and activities inspired by Catholic values, focused on inclusion, compassion, and unity.
• 💡 Project Support – Contribute ideas to develop workshops, campaigns, and local initiatives.
• 🎭 Cultural Activities – Take part in intercultural events, creative evenings, and collaborations with other volunteers.

This ESC experience is ideal for volunteers who wish to combine community service, creativity, and personal growth in a supportive environment rooted in Christian values.

🏡 Accommodation, Meals & Financial Support

• 🏠 Volunteers are hosted in shared flats located in Trstená or Tvrdošín.
• 🍽️ Food allowance and pocket money are provided monthly.
• 🚌 Travel costs are reimbursed according to Erasmus+ distance rules.
• 🧺 Apartments are fully furnished with access to all daily essentials (Wi-Fi, kitchen, washing machine, etc.).
• 🕊️ Volunteers may have lunch at the organisation or cook for themselves.

🎓 Training & Support

• 📚 Onboarding training during the first days of arrival.
• 🎯 On-arrival and mid-term seminars provided by the Slovak National Agency.
• 🌐 Continuous mentoring, supervision, and personal development support from VIAC’s staff and local mentors.

👥 Volunteer Profile

We are looking for enthusiastic young people aged 18–30 who:

• ✝️ Have a positive attitude toward Christianity and are open to its values.
• 💬 Can communicate in basic English.
• 🧩 Are open-minded, responsible, and motivated to work with young people.
• 🎨 Have creative or communication skills (e.g. design, video, social media).
• 🤗 Are willing to learn, collaborate, and grow personally through volunteering.

Previous experience in youth work, social activities, or volunteering is appreciated but not required.
