🌍 About the Project

Are you ready to take small steps that create big changes? The “Small Steps for Big Changes” volunteering project in Pančevo, Serbia, coordinated by Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa – Delegação de Cucujães in cooperation with Sinhro Hub, offers an inspiring opportunity for young Portuguese volunteers to make a difference abroad.

This European Solidarity Corps (ESC) experience focuses on youth empowerment, sustainable living, inclusion, and creativity. Over 4–12 months, volunteers will take part in activities that promote cultural exchange, social innovation, and local engagement — all while living in a vibrant international community. 🌍✨


💪 What You Will Do

As a volunteer in this project, you’ll join Sinhro Hub’s dynamic team in Pančevo, contributing to a variety of initiatives such as:

  • 🎨 Workshops & Events – Organise creative workshops, upcycling sessions, and community events promoting Erasmus+ and ESC opportunities.
  • 🌱 Sustainability Projects – Engage in eco-friendly activities like sustainable fashion, recycling, and upcycling projects.
  • 🗣️ Youth Engagement – Support the Youth Centre by facilitating language clubs, cultural activities, and intercultural learning sessions.
  • 💡 Community Involvement – Take part in thematic days, public campaigns, and events celebrating diversity, inclusion, and solidarity.
  • 🤝 Team Collaboration – Work with local volunteers and other ESC participants to create lasting positive change in the Pančevo community.

Each volunteer’s role will be shaped according to their personal skills, creativity, and motivation — ensuring a fulfilling and impactful experience!


🏡 Accommodation, Meals & Financial Support

  • 🏠 Volunteers will live together in a shared apartment near Sinhro Hub’s office in Pančevo.
  • 🛏️ Shared rooms by gender, with all essential facilities: Wi-Fi, kitchen, washing machine, and utilities included.
  • 💶 Pocket Money: €6 per day.
  • 🍽️ Food Allowance: Provided monthly.
  • ✈️ Travel Reimbursement: Up to €395, according to ESC rules.

This setup ensures a comfortable stay while encouraging teamwork and intercultural living.

  • 📚 Pre-Departure & On-Arrival Trainings provided by the sending and hosting organisations.

👥 Volunteer Profile

This project is open to Portuguese young people aged 18–30 living in:
Oliveira de Azeméis, S. João da Madeira, Vale de Cambra, Arouca, Sever do Vouga, or Castelo de Paiva.

Ideal candidates are:

  • 🌟 Motivated to join an international volunteering experience.
  • 💬 Able to communicate in basic English.
  • 👫 Open to teamwork, creativity, and community living.
  • 🌱 Interested in sustainability, culture, and youth work.
  • 👬 You can even apply together — there are 2 available spots!

No previous experience is needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and contribute!
