This European Solidarity Corps individual volunteering project is implemented by Stichting Ecosystem Restoration Foundation, in cooperation with AJEVES, and takes place in Danyi Apรฉyรฉmรฉ, Commune de Danyi 1, Togo ๐น๐ฌ.
The project focuses on womenโs empowerment, community engagement, and sustainable rural livelihoods, offering volunteers a deeply immersive experience in local development, gender equality, and cultural exchange.

Volunteers actively support womenโs groups and local communities by contributing to practical initiatives that strengthen economic resilience, environmental sustainability, and public health awareness, while fully integrating into everyday village life.
๐ฑ Main Activities & Daily Engagement
Volunteers will be involved in a wide range of meaningful, hands-on activities, including:
- ๐ฉ๐พโ๐พ Supportingย womenโs empowerment initiativesย and local womenโs groups
- ๐ฟ Participating inย regenerative agriculture & basic permacultureย practices
- ๐ Assisting withย beekeeping activitiesย and sustainable food production
- ๐ฐ Supportingย small-scale financial literacy and livelihood skills
- ๐ฐ Contributing toย WASH activitiesย (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), including hygiene awareness, safe water practices, and waste management
- ๐ซ Visitingย schools, health centres, and community hubs
- ๐ญ Taking part inย community events, traditional ceremonies, and cultural activities
- ๐ค Engaging withย local stakeholders and community leaders
โฐ Working hours are generally 08:00โ12:00 and 14:30โ17:30, with flexibility required to adapt to community needs and events.
๐ Accommodation, Food & Local Transport
- ๐ก Accommodation inย safe shared flatsย (single rooms may be available but are not guaranteed)
- ๐ฟ Basic amenities provided, including electricity, running water, and internet via SIM card
- ๐ฝ๏ธย Meals fully provided, based on healthy and balanced local cuisine (dietary needs can be communicated in advance)
- ๐ถ Most activities are within walking distance
- ๐ต Local transport (taxis and moto-taxis) arranged when needed, withย helmets provided
- ๐๏ธ Cultural visits, traditional events, and local market trips included as part of the experience

๐ Training & Support During the Activity
Volunteers receive structured and continuous support throughout their stay:
- ๐ย Initial orientationย covering local culture, safety, and community expectations
- ๐ฑ Introductory training onย health & sanitation, regenerative agriculture, and beekeeping
- ๐ ๏ธ Strong emphasis onย practical, hands-on learning
- โณ Training period typically lastsย 1โ2 weeks
- ๐ค Ongoing mentoring byย AJEVES staff
- ๐ฅย Free psychosocial supportย available at the local hospital
- ๐ค Stakeholder visits organized to ensure sustainability and long-term impact
๐ค Participant Profile
This opportunity is ideal for volunteers who:
- โค๏ธ Areย highly motivatedย to contribute to community service and local initiatives
- ๐ Have a strong interest in:
- Womenโs empowerment
- Sustainability & environmental conservation
- WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene)
- Beekeeping & regenerative agriculture
- ๐พ Have prior experience in regenerative farming or permaculture (an advantage but not required)
- ๐ค Areย open-minded, culturally respectful, and eager to learn
- ๐ Areย flexible and adaptableย in new and sometimes challenging environments
- ๐ฃ๏ธ Haveย French language skills at minimum B1 level, required for effective communication and integration
