Leading discussions on nutrition, active citizenship, and climate change โ all while living and working in a local, non-tourist neighbourhood in Hanoi. ICJA is offering an ESC Humanitarian Aid Volunteering placement with the Centre for Sustainable Development Studies (CSDS) in Vietnam, for young people aged 18โ35 who want to combine environmental education with genuine intercultural immersion.
๐ข About the Project
CSDS is a Vietnamese organisation focused on sustainable development, environmental awareness, and community education. As an ESC volunteer, you’ll work alongside local staff and volunteers to facilitate educational activities, raise environmental awareness, and implement green practices in Hanoi’s local communities.
๐ What You’ll Do
๐ Facilitate educational activities to raise environmental awareness and combat climate change
๐ฃ๏ธ Teach languages and host interactive discussions with local youth
โป๏ธ Implement green practices within the community
๐ญ Engage in and lead social animation and educational workshops
๐ Organise seminars on nutrition, environmental management, and active citizenship
๐ธ Contribute through video-making and photography to document and share project activities

๐ What the Project Provides
๐ Twin room accommodation with air conditioning in summer, hot water in winter, WiFi, and a fan โ shared kitchen, common space, and bathroom. Located in a quiet, non-tourist neighbourhood for genuine local immersion
๐ฝ๏ธ Three nutritious meals per day, six days a week
๐ Monthly bus pass provided
๐ Pre-departure online training and on-arrival training in Vietnam
๐งโ๐ซ A knowledgeable daily mentor supporting smooth integration
๐ Mid-term evaluation after 3 months and final evaluation before departure
๐ Follow-up meeting 1โ2 months after returning home
โ Eligibility Requirements
This is a Humanitarian Aid Volunteering placement:
๐ Aged 18โ35
๐ Must reside in an EU Member State or associated non-EU country
๐ Must be available for the full six-month period
โ Must have completed the mandatory face-to-face Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training before starting
