Teaching languages. Hosting environmental workshops. Leading discussions on nutrition, active citizenship, and climate change โ€” all while living and working in a local, non-tourist neighbourhood in Hanoi. ICJA is offering an ESC Humanitarian Aid Volunteering placement with the Centre for Sustainable Development Studies (CSDS) in Vietnam, for young people aged 18โ€“35 who want to combine environmental education with genuine intercultural immersion.

๐Ÿข About the Project

CSDS is a Vietnamese organisation focused on sustainable development, environmental awareness, and community education. As an ESC volunteer, you’ll work alongside local staff and volunteers to facilitate educational activities, raise environmental awareness, and implement green practices in Hanoi’s local communities.

๐Ÿ“‹ What You’ll Do

๐ŸŒ Facilitate educational activities to raise environmental awareness and combat climate change

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Teach languages and host interactive discussions with local youth

โ™ป๏ธ Implement green practices within the community

๐ŸŽญ Engage in and lead social animation and educational workshops

๐Ÿ“‹ Organise seminars on nutrition, environmental management, and active citizenship

๐Ÿ“ธ Contribute through video-making and photography to document and share project activities

๐ŸŽ What the Project Provides

๐Ÿ  Twin room accommodation with air conditioning in summer, hot water in winter, WiFi, and a fan โ€” shared kitchen, common space, and bathroom. Located in a quiet, non-tourist neighbourhood for genuine local immersion

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Three nutritious meals per day, six days a week

๐ŸšŒ Monthly bus pass provided

๐Ÿ“š Pre-departure online training and on-arrival training in Vietnam

๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ A knowledgeable daily mentor supporting smooth integration

๐Ÿ“Š Mid-term evaluation after 3 months and final evaluation before departure

๐Ÿ”„ Follow-up meeting 1โ€“2 months after returning home

โœ… Eligibility Requirements

This is a Humanitarian Aid Volunteering placement:

๐Ÿ”ž Aged 18โ€“35

๐ŸŒ Must reside in an EU Member State or associated non-EU country

๐Ÿ“… Must be available for the full six-month period

โœ… Must have completed the mandatory face-to-face Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training before starting
