🇪🇸 ESC Volunteering in Spain 🌿 Rural Awareness and Inner Awareness: Emotional Intelligence and Community Life 🧘

A small village with fewer than 200 inhabitants. Organic gardening, meditation, movement, intergenerational encounters with local elderly residents, and a group of international volunteers living and learning together in the Spanish countryside. RURAL AWARENESS — INNER AWARENESS is an ESC team volunteering project by Parkeri that combines outer community work with inner personal development — two weeks of experiential learning in one of Spain’s most beautiful rural landscapes.

🏡 About the Project

The project is rooted in a simple but powerful idea: that exploring your inner world and contributing to a vibrant community can happen at the same time, in the same place. Volunteers participate in rural community activities during the day and non-formal education sessions focused on emotional intelligence — using the natural environment as both classroom and backdrop.

Parkeri operates with clear organisational principles: inclusion, gender equity, LGBTQ+ rights, social justice, sustainability, and anti-racism. These values shape everything about how the project runs.

📋 What You’ll Do

🌾 Rural Community Activities (6–7 hours/day, 5 days/week)

🥬 Participate in organic gardening and farming

🥾 Join nature trails in the surrounding natural landscape

👴 Take part in intergenerational encounters with local elderly residents

🍳 Cook together, clean together, and share daily life as a group — volunteers are responsible for daily life activities with the guidance of group leaders

🧠 Non-Formal Education Sessions (daily)

🧘 Meditation and mindfulness practices

🕺 Movement and body work

🌲 Outdoor activities making full use of the natural surroundings

💬 Group discussions and peer learning on themes including:

🔍 Self-awareness and self-love

🤝 Empathy and conflict resolution

🌿 Connection with nature and emotional literacy

📜 Participants will receive a Youthpass certificate at the end

🏠 Accommodation

Volunteers stay at Parkeri’s rural house in a small village:

🛏️ Shared bedrooms and bathrooms

🍳 Communal kitchen where volunteers cook together

🛏️ Bedding and basic supplies provided

🌳 Surrounded by nature and the local village community

🗺️ Occasional day trips to nearby towns or natural spaces may be organised

👤 Who Should Apply

Parkeri is looking for motivated young people who:

❤️ Have a genuine interest in emotional education, self-development, non-formal learning, or community life

🌾 Are willing to live in a village of fewer than 200 inhabitants, far from city life

🤝 Are ready to live and work as part of an international group

💡 Bring curiosity, empathy, and openness — no previous experience required

📝 Apply with a short motivation letter explaining your interest in emotional education and rural life
