🇹🇷 ESC Volunteering in Türkiye 🌍 Be the Change: Youth in Action for Climate and Disasters 🔥

Disaster preparedness. Climate change. Post-disaster recovery. Community resilience. These aren’t abstract topics — they are urgent, practical, and deeply relevant to communities across Europe and beyond. Sorgun Gençlik Derneği (SORGED) is offering an ESC team volunteering placement in Sorgun, Yozgat, Türkiye as part of the “You Future”project — bringing together 10 young volunteers for 30 days of training, community education, and action.

🎯 About the Project

The “You Future” project is an ESC team volunteering project supported by the European Commission. Volunteers receive training on disaster preparedness, climate change, post-disaster recovery, and community resilience — and then go out into the community to share what they’ve learned through training sessions, campaigns, and events for local children, young people, and adults.

📋 What You’ll Do

🎓 Receive training on disaster preparedness, climate change, post-disaster recovery, and community resilience

🛠️ Participate in workshops, seminars, field visits, and group activities

📣 Organise training sessions, events, and campaigns for local children, young people, and adults

🌍 Share knowledge with the community to raise public awareness

🤝 Contribute to building a more disaster-prepared and resilient local society

🗣️ Foster intercultural dialogue through shared action and learning

🎁 What the Project Provides

🏠 Shared apartment with double rooms, bathrooms, and shared kitchen — equipped with kitchen utensils and internet access

💶 €6 per day pocket money

🍽️ €6 per day food allowance

✈️ Travel costs reimbursed based on ESC travel rules

👤 Who Should Apply

SORGED is looking for volunteers who are:

🌍 Culturally engaged, creative, active, and open-minded

🤝 Team-oriented, responsible, and open to new experiences

🗣️ Have sufficient English language skills to communicate effectively

💡 Solution-oriented, tolerant, organised, and compliant with organisational rules

🌱 Willing to volunteer in the community and take responsibility

📚 Knowledgeable about or eager to learn about disaster preparedness and climate change
