Are you drawn to sustainable living, rural community life, ecology, and multicultural exchange โ and ready to roll up your sleeves in a small Croatian village? Eko Centar Latinovac is looking for ESC volunteers to join their community and contribute to sustainable and rural development, garden creation, property renovation, community activities, and local school programmes. Deadline: 27 March 2026.
๐ญ๐ท Did You Know? Slavonia โ the region of Croatia where Latinovac is located โ is one of the most fertile and ecologically diverse areas in Central Europe. Characterised by flat agricultural plains, ancient oak forests, and the Drava and Sava river valleys, it is often called the breadbasket of Croatia. Far from the tourist crowds of the Dalmatian coast, it offers an authentic, unhurried experience of Croatian rural life that very few international visitors ever discover.
What Will You Do?

๐ก Did You Know? Eco centres and community-based sustainability projects like Eko Centar Latinovac are part of a growing movement across rural Europe that combines ecological restoration, community building, and intentional living. Many of these centres operate as living laboratories for sustainable practices โ testing and demonstrating approaches to food production, building, energy, and community organisation that could be replicated more widely. Volunteering in one means learning by doing in an environment where sustainability is not a concept but a daily reality.
