🇵🇱 ESC Volunteering in Poland 📚 Promoting Culture and Reading 🎨 Municipal Library, Przasnysz 🇵🇱
Are you creative, communicative, and comfortable working with people of all ages — from children to seniors — with a genuine interest in culture, reading, and community life? Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna in Przasnysz, a town in northern Masovia, Poland, is looking for ESC volunteers to support the library team in running cultural and educational activities, managing social media (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube), and bringing an intercultural dimension to everything from language cafés to STEM workshops. Flat shared with another volunteer, €150 food budget and €180 pocket money per month, online language course provided. No deadline — apply as soon as possible.
🇵🇱 Did You Know? Przasnysz is one of the oldest towns in the Masovian region of Poland — it received its town charter in the 14th century and has a history stretching back over 700 years. Located about 100 km north of Warsaw in a quiet rural landscape, it is the kind of authentic, unhurried Polish town that most international visitors never discover. Living here as an ESC volunteer means becoming part of a real community rather than a tourist destination.
What Will You Do?
📚Support library staff in the preparation and running of activities for readers and local inhabitants of all ages — from children’s reading sessions to senior events
📱Create content and manage social media — including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube — bringing fresh, creative energy to the library’s digital presence
🌍Organise language cafés and intercultural activities — sharing your language, background, and culture with the local community through hands-on, participatory formats
🎓Support educational activities at local high schools — including meetings, workshops, and presentations that connect the library with the wider community
🔬Help organise handicraft and STEM workshops — practical, creative sessions for participants of different ages and backgrounds
🎪Support events such as excursions, workshops, and concerts — contributing to the cultural life of Przasnysz beyond the library walls
🎬Take photos and create videos for the library’s social media channels — your visual storytelling skills are actively valued and encouraged
💡Realise your own initiatives — especially those with an intercultural dimension. Volunteers are genuinely encouraged to bring their own ideas and make them happen
💡 Did You Know? Public libraries in Poland have undergone a remarkable transformation in recent decades — from traditional book-lending institutions into vibrant community cultural centres offering workshops, language courses, digital literacy programmes, concerts, and exhibitions. The Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna in Przasnysz is part of this movement, making it one of the most dynamic and community-facing ESC host environments a volunteer could find in Poland.
