🌍 ESC Volunteering in Slovenia – COMPASS: Connect, Create, and Care in the Heart of Nature! 🇸🇮

🌿 About the Project

Have you ever dreamed of living close to the mountains, surrounded by peaceful forests and friendly people — while making a difference in the lives of others? The COMPASS project in Begunje na Gorenjskem, Slovenia, offers exactly that!
Organised by Asociación Cultural En Construcción (Spain) and hosted by Manipura Zavod za Svetovanje in Kreativno Delo z Mladimi in Družinami, this inspiring European Solidarity Corps opportunity invites young people to explore the power of community, solidarity, and sustainability.

Through COMPASS, volunteers will engage in meaningful local initiatives — from creative workshops for children and youth, to ecological farming and inclusion activities for people with disabilities. This is a unique chance to learn, grow, and contribute to a small Slovenian village that truly values cooperation, culture, and care for the planet. 🌱

💪 What You Will Do

During your ESC adventure in Begunje na Gorenjskem, you’ll:

  • 🌍 Promote intercultural learning through youth workshops and creative events.
  • 🤝 Support people with intellectual and physical disabilities at centres such as VDC Radovljica or CUDV Radovljica.
  • 🌾 Help on ecological farms like “Garden of Tastes” and in eco-projects promoting sustainable, self-sufficient lifestyles.
  • 🎨 Organise artistic and fun workshops for children during school holidays — painting, music, storytelling, outdoor play!
  • 🐾 Take part in solidarity actions, including community celebrations, animal sanctuary support, and assistance to local families in need.
  • 🏔️ Join inclusive mountain activities, assisting people with mobility or visual challenges while exploring Slovenia’s stunning alpine landscapes.

Every day will bring something new, creative, and meaningful — all while learning how solidarity and environmental awareness can transform a community. 🌞

🏡 Accommodation, Meals & Transport

You’ll live in a cozy shared house with other international volunteers. The house includes:

  • 5 bedrooms, a large kitchen & living area, 3 bathrooms, and a garden 🌻
  • A leisure room with space for games, reading, and movie nights 🎬
  • Private rooms for long-term volunteers (sharing possible during high activity periods)
  • €7 daily food allowance + €5 daily pocket money
  • Free bus and train card for unlimited travel across Slovenia 🚆

This setup allows you to live independently while staying connected to other volunteers — sharing meals, laughter, and new experiences.

🧭 Training & Mentorship

Throughout your volunteering period, you’ll be supported by both the Slovene National Agency and Manipura Zavod.

  • On-arrival and mid-term trainings help you understand ESC values and Slovenian culture.
  • Regular mentoring sessions guide your personal and professional growth.
  • Additional workshops give you space to share ideas and develop your own initiatives.

This project encourages learning by doing — giving you real skills you can take into your future career or community work.
