At Youth Works Hub, we read all 42 of these European Solidarity Corps listings in full, and every one of them is a fully funded way to volunteer abroad in 2026 and 2027. The placements are spread across 18 countries, from Spain, Portugal and Italy to Armenia and Mozambique, with deadlines from 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027. Eighteen of the 42 close in the first week of October, so the list below starts with the most urgent. The European Solidarity Corps is for young people aged 18 to 30 who want to volunteer abroad, and the humanitarian placement in Armenia accepts candidates up to 35. Durations range from two-week group projects to a full year, so a gap year, a semester off or a short autumn break can each fit somewhere in this batch.
Several placements stand out. In Gyumri, Armenia's second largest city, the Youth Initiative Centre is looking for a trainer to help run GLOW camps that build leadership skills for girls aged 13 to 15. The role is a Humanitarian Aid Volunteering placement that also covers visa and vaccination costs. WeWorld in Maputo, Mozambique, needs a volunteer for its logistics and procurement team for ten months. In Caltanissetta, Italy, a two-week volunteering team harvests olives, learns how olive oil is made and meets local organisations that manage assets and land confiscated from the Mafia. In Vaour, in the Tarn, a group of young people will help restore the theatre of a 12th-century Templar Commandery. A Danish folk high school in Fredericia hosts a volunteer for the whole of 2027. The LEAP project in Emmen, the Netherlands, splits the week between animal care, workshops at the VIP! School, a youth centre and community work that volunteers choose themselves. The ecovillage farm in Cloughjordan, Ireland, teaches organic vegetable growing through a full production cycle. SocialXChange in Bucharest, the first shop of its kind in Romania, lets donors earn points instead of money while families choose what they need from the shelves.
The batch leans towards children, young people and community work, with day centres, kindergartens, leisure centres, youth centres, youth clubs and schools in Romania, Estonia, France, Sweden, Poland and Ireland. There are also farming and outdoor projects in Ireland, Italy and France. Five of the listings are ESC volunteering teams, which are short group projects, in Bucharest, Berlin, Caltanissetta, Vaour and Beaumotte-Aubertans. Eligibility varies far more than usual: four placements are open to only one country each, and five more accept applicants from only four to eleven countries. It is worth checking which countries can take part in the ESC against each listing before you start your application.
Funding
Every placement in this batch runs under the European Solidarity Corps, where the programme funds accommodation, food or a food allowance, pocket money, insurance and travel within the ESC distance bands. According to Youth Works Hub's review of the 42 listings, the amounts vary by host:

Deadlines are spread wide: one placement closes on 1 October, eight close on 2 October, 15 close between 3 and 10 October and 14 between 15 and 31 October. The last four close in November, December and February 2027.

LIDOSK in Antalya is looking for volunteers to strengthen its outreach, communication and project management. They help plan workshops, youth exchanges and training courses, promote Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps opportunities and create social media content. Volunteers share a flat close to the LIDOSK office and public transport and receive a monthly food allowance. WeWorld, an organisation working for a fairer and more inclusive world, is looking for one volunteer for its mission in Maputo, Mozambique. The role is part of the REACH AID project and runs from 1 February to 30 November 2027. The volunteer supports the logistics and procurement team in organising and monitoring supplies, equipment, vehicles and stock, guided by a line manager and a field mentor. Volunteers help young people develop ideas and prototypes and support entrepreneurs. They also build the association's communication network, create digital development projects and draft European project proposals with local youth. The placement lasts 21 weeks between 1 November 2026 and 31 March 2027. The association pays for accommodation in a shared apartment, food and public transport. The host expects experience in communication, video editing, social networks, 3D or laser cutting, and in using hiking route apps and finding your way on forest or mountain trails on your own. English at C1 and Spanish at B2 to C1 are required.
25. ๐ฎ๐ช ESC Volunteering in Ireland ๐ฅ Community Supported Agriculture at an Ecovillage Farm ๐ฑ

An ecovillage community farm in Cloughjordan, Ireland, offers a full cycle of organic vegetable production and distribution. The work runs from sowing and transplanting to weeding and harvesting, with communal cooking and occasional preserving, building or social media tasks. The 21-week placement falls between 20 October 2026 and 20 March 2027. Volunteers live in a three-floor house with a garden and share a room with a volunteer of the same gender. The host wants someone passionate about video production and editing, who loves nature and animals, is ready to live in a small village and is motivated to learn Italian.

The placement runs from 18 January to 17 September 2027. Volunteers get free shared accommodation, โฌ8 a day in pocket money and โฌ256 for food. They are also fed three times a day except at weekends and during school holidays, and have a bicycle and access to the centre's car. From 30 October to 14 November 2026, a volunteering team in the Tarn helps restore it. Volunteers sleep on mattresses in the municipal village hall, in non-mixed areas separated by partitions, which the host compares to indoor camping. They take turns cooking seasonal meals, with meat twice a week. The team brings together young people aged 18 to 30 from all over Europe and the world. Volunteers join the kindergarten from late 2026 until June 2027, giving children and staff the chance to discover new cultures, languages and perspectives. The children learn through play, creating, building, growing and experimenting. Accommodation is a private room in a university dormitory or a shared apartment. Local transport is covered, and volunteers receive monthly food and pocket money. Basic English is required.

Kooperativet Fjรคllet runs a youth centre in Rannebergen, Gothenburg, for young people aged 10 to 20, and it is built on their participation. It hosts two volunteers who work as youth leaders. They create sports, games, crafts, theatre and music activities with the young people and develop their own projects, supported by experienced youth workers. Each volunteer has a private bedroom in a shared apartment 25 minutes from the centre by bus. They receive about 4,500 SEK a month for food and pocket money, a public transport card and a SIM card, and accommodation, travel, insurance and visa costs are covered. The schedule is about 35 to 38 hours a week, including three to four evenings. The activity period runs from 1 October 2026 to 31 August 2027.

Good English and at least basic German are required. They cook in turns in a professional kitchen with organic or local food provided by the association: meat twice and fish once during the project, with a fully vegetarian option. The volunteer helps organise overnight GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) camps that train girls aged 13 to 15 in leadership, with up to 40 participants per camp and 80 girls overall. The placement lasts 52 weeks between 1 October 2026 and 30 November 2027. Travel, accommodation, visa and vaccination are covered, along with a workstation at the YIC office and a monthly allowance. YOU(TH) 4 FUTURE is a project hosted by the Portuguese Red Cross in Sanguedo, Santa Maria da Feira, from 1 March to 30 July 2027. Volunteers work with children, elderly people, animals and the local community at the Senior University, a kindergarten, an elderly day centre, a solidarity shop, animal organisations and environmental initiatives. They also develop a personal project. Free shared accommodation includes water, electricity and Wi-Fi. Volunteers receive โฌ150 a month for food, โฌ6 a day in pocket money, language support and mentoring, and travel is reimbursed by distance band. No professional background is needed. Only young people from Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain can apply.
For outdoor and hands-on work, look at the ecovillage farm in Cloughjordan, the olive harvest in Caltanissetta and the rural community in the Oltrepรฒ Pavese. The two French volunteering teams, restoring a medieval theatre and working in a countryside house, are also hands-on. Children and young people are at the centre of the Pinocchio day centre in Panciu, the La Bergue leisure centre in Cranves-Sales, the Endla kindergarten in Tallinn, the Fjรคllet youth centre in Gothenburg and the youth clubs in Trim. For creative, digital or office roles, look at the Butterfly House in Bordano, the fablab in Lugo, the Schwarzkopf Foundation in Berlin, the ijgd workcamp office in Hannover and LIDOSK in Antalya. Pocket money ranges from โฌ4 a day in Panciu and Alba Iulia to โฌ8 a day in Cranves-Sales, and how much pocket money ESC volunteers receive depends on the official rate for each host country.
Timing is what matters most in this batch. The Sorgun placement in Tรผrkiye closes on 1 October. Eight more close on 2 October, including six roles at the Pinocchio centre, the Opole seniors project and the youth clubs in Trim, and 15 more close between 3 and 10 October. The rest close between 15 October and November, while the Armenia humanitarian placement stays open until 15 December and the Red Cross project in Sanguedo until 1 February 2027. Durations vary just as much, from two-week volunteering teams to a full year, so it helps to understand how long an ESC project can lastbefore you choose.
