For nearly 30 years, this care home in Lithuania has been providing high-quality services to elderly residents — with dignity, warmth, and a genuine commitment to social integration. This ESC placement invites an Italian volunteer to become a real part of that community, building meaningful relationships and enriching daily life for the people who live there.

Specialieji socialinės globos namai “Tremtinių namai” is a welcoming, secular institution in Lithuania that offers international volunteers a unique emotional and cultural experience — one built around intergenerational encounter, friendship, and genuine human connection. The placement is coordinated by Associazione Antigóna and is open to participants from Italy only.

What Is This Role About?

As a volunteer at the care home, you will actively participate in the daily life of the residents — supporting their activities, building relationships, and helping to create a living environment that is warm, stimulating, and dignified. You will also be encouraged to propose and organise your own activities to enrich the residents’ experience.

Activities

🤸 Assisting with daily activities — gymnastics, board games, group cooking, and creative projects

🎉 Organising festivities and concerts at the care home

🚌 Participating in outings and excursions with residents

🎨 Leading and supporting creative projects with elderly residents and people with disabilities

💡 Suggesting and organising new activities — your initiative is actively encouraged

🤝 Building meaningful relationships with residents through daily presence and engagement

Accommodation & Practical Details
