🇷🇴 ESC Volunteering in Romania 💻 Cyber Speak: English and Digital Skills for Rural Youth 🌍

Rural communities in northern Argeș County are home to young people with real potential and limited access to quality English education and digital tools. Cyber Speak is an ESC volunteering project run by Asociatia EuroActive NGO that puts you directly in the middle of changing that — through lesson design, digital workshops, cultural exchanges, and everyday community building.

🏘️ About the Project

Cyber Speak is focused on teaching English and digital skills to rural youth in the northern areas of Argeș County, Romania. All activities are conducted in English, giving local participants a practical, interactive environment to develop their communication skills. The broader goal is to build a united and active community interested in creative, recreational, and educational activities — where cultural exchange adds genuine value to the lives of young people who otherwise have limited access to such experiences.

🎯 The Role

You’ll be designing and delivering lessons, organising events, and serving as a cultural bridge between European values and a local community that is genuinely eager to engage. The first week is a dedicated orientation phase — so you’ll be supported and prepared before anything begins.

📋 What You’ll Do

📝 Design and deliver engaging English lesson plans adapted to rural youth

💻 Support students in developing digital skills in a practical and interactive way

🎪 Help organise cultural exchange events and digital workshops

🇪🇺 Promote European Union values through activities and everyday interaction

🤝 Contribute to building a connected, active local community

🌍 Share your own culture and knowledge with young people in the community

🧠 Training & Orientation

During the first week, you’ll receive:

🛠️ Training on how to use the management tools needed throughout the project

🎓 Guidance on how to organise, implement, assess, share, and record youth activities

📚 Access to materials to help you plan your activities effectively

🎁 What the Project Provides

🏠 Accommodation in double rooms — individual bed and auxiliary furniture, shared bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, and common facilities

💶 €4 per day pocket money allowance

🍽️ €5 per day to cover food and basic necessities

✈️ Travel costs reimbursed according to the Erasmus+ Distance Calculator based on real expenses

🛂 Visa costs covered up to €120

👤 Who Should Apply

You’re the ideal candidate if you are:

🔞 Aged 18–29

🗣️ Have medium to good English and social skills

👦 Interested in working with young people — experience is a plus

🎨 Creative, adaptable, enjoy learning new things, and can manage stress well

💡 Motivated and open-minded, with a willingness to teach, organise events, play with kids, and share your knowledge
