🇭🇺 #Hungary ESC Project – 📣 Participant Call
The Műintézet Association is seeking three volunteers for an opportunity at DRUKKER Community Letterpress in Pécs, Hungary. The volunteers will join the printmakers team and engage in various tasks related to the print studio and community life. Activities range from assisting with printmaking workshops for children to creating zines, posters, and graphics for projects.
Accommodation includes a private room in a shared apartment with shared facilities such as the kitchen and toilets. A monthly allowance for food and living expenses will be provided. Pécs, a small city in the southwest of Hungary near the Croatian border, boasts a rich cultural heritage and diverse history due to its multicultural past.
During the volunteering period, volunteers will receive training in techniques such as riso printing, letterpress printmaking, screen printing, analog photo processing, and bookbinding.
They will also have the chance to assist with workshops, cultural events, and the setup of a new workshop. Additionally, volunteers can lead their own public events and collaborate with other NGOs in Pécs and Hungary.
The ideal participants should be willing to assist with daily printshop tasks, show initiative, lead their own projects, and work well in a small team. Passion for creativity and culture is important, but prior printmaking experience is not necessary as training will be provided. Being comfortable working with dogs is also a requirement.
The volunteering period spans 44 weeks, from October 1, 2023, to July 31, 2024, and will take place at Káptalan utca 4., 7621 Pécs, Hungary.
The opportunity is open to participants from Hungary and Serbia. The activity focuses on citizenship and democratic participation, education and training, as well as creativity and culture.
