The Ayuntamiento de Lleida’s Youth Department in Lleida, Spain, is offering a volunteering opportunity through the “LLEIDAJOVE – Youth In Action” project. The city of Lleida is located in Catalonia and has a population of around 140,000 inhabitants. Lleidajove, the Youth Department of the City Hall, has been actively engaged in European projects since 2009, participating in Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps.
The project’s focus is on promoting solidarity, personal development, and social inclusion through various services and activities that contribute to building a participatory and inclusive society.
The main mission of the volunteer is to enhance and promote youth information, non-formal education, cultural activities, and leisure activities organized by the Youth Department. Volunteers will participate in local projects that aim to strengthen the community and support disadvantaged groups through social, educational, and labor integration programs.
Accommodation will be provided in a shared flat in Lleida, with individual rooms for each volunteer. The flat is equipped with all necessary facilities and is situated near the city’s natural park and sports area.
The volunteer will receive a food allowance of €200 per month and a pocket money allowance of €180 per month. Bicycles and local bus cards will be provided, and all expenses related to travel, accommodation, food, and pocket money are covered by the project.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn the local language (Spanish), participate in non-formal training and integration activities, and receive support from a designated mentor. Spanish and Catalan classes will be available to help volunteers communicate effectively and immerse themselves in the local culture.
The ideal participant profile includes individuals between 18 and 30 years old with basic knowledge of Spanish, a dynamic and positive attitude, a sense of responsibility and initiative, creativity and communication skills, and an interest in youth work, EU projects, and social media.
The volunteering period spans 52 weeks, from November 1, 2023, to July 31, 2025. The activity takes place at c/ La Palma, 6-10., 25002 Lleida, Spain.
The opportunity is open to participants from various European countries.
The activity focuses on social challenges, reception and integration of refugees and migrants, citizenship and democratic participation, health and wellbeing, education and training, creativity and culture, and physical education and sport.
