What Will You Do as a Volunteer?
๐ฃ๏ธ Communicate, play, and build trusting relationships with young people on a daily basis
๐จ Help organise and lead workshops, culture evenings, hobby activities, and community events
๐๏ธ Support school break programmes, camps, and school packets for local schools
๐ก Develop and lead your own regular hobby class or activity based on your skills and interests
๐ฑ Handle digital communication with youngsters, colleagues, and community members via Teams, Outlook, Discord, and MS Office
๐ผ๏ธ Create visuals and share youth information both online and in person
๐ค Actively contribute as a team member and take up responsibilities independently when needed
Accommodation, Food & Travel
๐ You will live in a shared household with other volunteers, with your own bed, WiFi, and a fully equipped kitchen
๐ฝ๏ธ You will receive โฌ6 daily food allowance to organise your meals as you wish
๐ถ A daily pocket money of โฌ5 is provided throughout your volunteering period
โ๏ธ Travel costs to Estonia and back home are covered according to European distance calculator limits
๐ Local transportation costs for your daily work commute are also covered
Training & Learning
๐ On-arrival training is organised by the Estonian National Agency, where you will meet fellow ESC volunteers and learn about life in Estonia
๐ A mid-term evaluation gives you the opportunity to reflect on your experience and reconnect with other volunteers
๐ฉโ๐ซ You will have a dedicated mentor providing regular guidance and support throughout your service
๐ AEYC (The Association of Estonian Open Youth Centres) will introduce you to open youth work principles and inclusive approaches
Participant Profile
๐ You are passionate about working with young people aged 7 to 26 and eager to make a positive community impact
๐ You are open-minded about topics such as gender, climate, LGBTQI+, and politics, and committed to inclusive youth work
๐ค You are a team player who is ready to share responsibilities and take initiative independently
๐จ Creative skills in sports, music, arts, or digital tools are a big plus
๐ป You are digitally literate and comfortable using tools such as Teams, Outlook, MS Office, and Discord
๐ฃ๏ธ You have strong communication skills and are proficient in English
๐ No prior experience in youth work is required โ enthusiasm and a desire to learn are what matter most
