An ESC Volunteering Teams opportunity is open in Ēvele, Latvia, hosted by Jauniešu organizācija “Ligzda”. This project brings together 12 international volunteers to support dynamic day camps for children and youngsters aged 7–14 in a rural environment.

The project focuses on non-formal education, outdoor learning, teamwork, and youth leadership. Volunteers will actively contribute to planning and delivering engaging activities during an intensive summer camp period.

🎯 Main Activities

Volunteers will work in teams to design and implement day camp programmes including:

🏕️ Camping and outdoor activities
🥾 Tracking and nature-based exploration
🎨 Creative workshops (art, music, digital, languages, environment)
⚽ Sports and active group games
🧩 Non-formal learning sessions for children

Before the camp period, volunteers will prepare the programme together through group workshops focused on planning, responsibilities, and team coordination. After five active camping weeks (Monday–Friday), the project concludes with final evaluation sessions and activities to explore Latvian culture and country context. Weekends are free.

🏠 Accommodation and Financial Conditions

🏡 Accommodation at “Ēveles skola” in shared rooms (3–4 persons) in a rural setting
🍳 Volunteers cook together in the school kitchen or meals are provided by the team
💶 Food support: 6 EUR per day
💰 Pocket money: 5 EUR per day (approximately 250 EUR for 2 months)
✈️ Travel costs reimbursed according to the Erasmus+ distance calculator

📚 2-day training on camp structure, team roles, and responsibilities
🤝 Team-building and preparation workshops before camp implementation
📜 Youthpass certificate

👤 Participant Profile

✔ 18–30 years old
✔ Registered in the European Youth Portal
✔ Interested in working with children and youngsters (7–14 years old)
✔ Positive attitude and ready to act as youth leaders
✔ Comfortable leading non-formal learning activities
✔ Interested in sport, art, music, outdoor life, digital activities, environment or languages
✔ Basic English as working language

Previous experience in camp activities is an advantage but not mandatory.
