You can join an international ESC volunteering experience on a working agroforestry farm in Bitonto, Italy, where you will gain hands-on skills in permaculture design, soil regeneration, and regenerative agriculture. If you are ready to live and work within a real ecological community, this opportunity will help you grow both personally and professionally.

What Will You Do as a Volunteer?

๐ŸŒณ Work directly on an agroforestry farm with over 15,000 fruit trees, shrubs, and vegetable gardens

๐ŸŒฟ Learn and apply permaculture design principles and ecological ethics in a real environment

โœ‚๏ธ Participate in agroforest management through pruning and organic matter organisation

๐Ÿชด Help build and maintain a plant nursery and support planting activities on site

๐ŸŒ Contribute to composting, biochar production, and natural fertilisation practices

๐Ÿ“š Attend both theoretical and practical training sessions on agro-ecology and bioconstruction

Accommodation, Food & Travel

๐Ÿก You will live in shared rooms alongside other volunteers and staff members

๐Ÿฅ— Meals are mostly organic, locally sourced, vegetarian, and self-grown on the farm

๐Ÿ• Eggs and weekly cheese nights are part of the diet โ€” meat and fish are not served on the farm

โ™ป๏ธ The community values critical consumption โ€” please avoid bringing industrial or packaged food

๐Ÿงด Biodegradable and plant-based toiletry products are required during your stay

Training & Learning

๐ŸŒฑ Permaculture design concepts: how ecosystems work and how to replicate them in practice

๐ŸŒพ Natural succession and agroforestry layers, observed and practised directly in the field

๐Ÿชต Rational management of organic matter and agroforest structure through pruning techniques

๐ŸŒŽ Soil health fundamentals: composting, worm bins, biochar, and biofertiliser preparation

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Introduction to bioconstruction and ecological building approaches

Participant Profile

๐Ÿ‘ค You are between 18 and 30 years old

๐Ÿ’š You have a genuine interest in ecology, sustainability, and regenerative living

๐Ÿค You are open-minded, proactive, sociable, and a strong team player

๐ŸŒ You speak English or Italian at a communicative level

๐Ÿ”ง Previous experience in agriculture, social media, or ecobuilding is a plus โ€” but not required
