This European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Individual Volunteering opportunity takes place in Guimarães, Portugal 🇵🇹and focuses on community wellbeing, civic participation, inclusion, and non-formal learning. Volunteers contribute to meaningful local initiatives with real social impact, working alongside local partners while developing personal projects supported at every stage. The approach is inspired by flourishing—the holistic development of individuals and communities—within a learning environment grounded in European values.
🎯 Volunteering Activities
Volunteers will engage in a diverse set of community-based actions, including:
🤝 Social and civic initiatives supporting local communities
🎓 Educational and non-formal learning activities with youth, children, and older people
🌿 Environmental and cultural actions linked to community life
🧠 Development and implementation of an individual project with mentoring and guidance
🌍 Teamwork with local partners, fostering intercultural dialogue and European values
🏡 Accommodation, Food & Transport
🏠 Shared accommodation in fully equipped apartments meeting Erasmus+ standards
🍽️ Adequate food provision via monthly allowance or on-site meals
🚌 Local transport costs related to project activities covered to ensure accessibility and mobility
🎓 Training & Support During the Activity
📘 Initial and ongoing training sessions
🧠 Topics may include Positive Psychology, Nonviolent Communication, Intercultural Education, and Migration
🗣️ Portuguese language support
🩹 Training on safety, first aid, and volunteering ethics
