About the Opportunity
🌿 This European Solidarity Corps individual volunteering project is hosted by Øhavets Smakke- og Naturcenter on Strynø Island near Rudkøbing, Denmark 🇩🇰.
🏝️ Strynø is a small island with around 210 inhabitants and one of Denmark’s best-preserved medieval towns. Founded in 1993, the center is located directly on the waterfront and offers nature-based, outdoor, and maritime activities throughout the year.
What Will You Do?
⛵ Take part in everyday work at the nature and sailing center
🛠️ Prepare boats and the campsite for the summer season
🌊 Support sailing activities, SUP, and kayak trips for visitors
🧽 Maintain and clean equipment, dinghies, and facilities
🎨 Assist with painting, grass cutting, and general maintenance
🏕️ Help with campsite upkeep and daily operations
🧭 Guide tourists and interact with guests at the campground
🤝 Work independently and together with the center’s staff
Training & Learning Experience
🌿 Learning-by-doing through daily outdoor and maritime activities
⛵ Practical experience in sailing, nature-based tourism, and island life
🤝 Continuous guidance from experienced staff members
📘 Seasonal learning adapted to spring and summer activities
Who Can Apply?
👤 Aged 18–30
🌿 Enjoys outdoor activities and physical work
🗣️ Able to communicate in English at a conversational level
🤝 Open-minded, flexible, and ready to support various tasks
😊 Strong social skills for working with guests and visitors
🌊 Interested in nature, sailing, and island community life
