๐ข About Merhamet Sandลพak
Merhamet Sandลพak provides social and humanitarian support to vulnerable individuals and families across the Sandลพak region of Serbia. Their Social Program department works on inclusion initiatives, educational activities, community outreach, and long-term empowerment โ and this volunteer role sits right at the operational heart of that work.
๐ฏ The Role
The Social Program Assistant supports the planning and implementation of social inclusion initiatives โ combining direct programme support, community outreach, and educational facilitation. The role is substantive and varied, requiring someone who is both empathetic and practically organised.
๐ Responsibilities
๐ Assist in project planning, proposal writing, and partnership building within the Social Program department
๐ Plan and facilitate educational activities for at-risk youth and families
๐ Conduct outreach to identify vulnerable groups and encourage participation in available services
๐ค Represent the organisation at trainings, seminars, and workshops
๐ Provide humanitarian and administrative support across the team
๐ What Merhamet Sandลพak Provides
โ๏ธ Round-trip flight ticket fully covered by the grant
๐ A lockable, safe apartment with bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom in the city centre near the office
๐ถ Monthly allowance of โฌ500 to cover meals and daily expenses
๐ Pre-departure training to prepare for the opportunity
๐ On-arrival training introducing the volunteer to the host country
๐ก๏ธ Code of Conduct orientation and Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults training
๐๏ธ Training in Project Cycle Management for better understanding of programming and activities
๐ Opportunity to participate in other Merhamet capacity-building activities
๐ค Who Should Apply
Merhamet is looking for a volunteer who is:
โค๏ธ Motivated and socially conscious with a background or strong interest in social work, community development, or humanitarian action
๐ค Empathetic, proactive, and committed to promoting inclusion and wellbeing for vulnerable groups
๐ Comfortable with project planning, proposal writing, or community outreach โ experience is an advantage
๐ Able to facilitate educational activities and engage with diverse community members
๐ Comfortable contributing to both programmatic and administrative tasks in a cross-cultural environment
