Academic reinforcement. Emotional wellbeing workshops. Social theatre. Collective murals. And two vulnerable communities in the Ancash region of Peru where young people need more than what the system currently gives them. CRECER is an ESC Humanitarian Aid Volunteering project placing volunteers in Nuevo Chimbote, Peru, to work directly alongside educators, families, and local youth in building learning spaces based on mutual respect and genuine empowerment.

๐Ÿ˜๏ธ About the Project

CRECER is coordinated by United Societies of Balkans (Greece) and implemented on the ground by Brigada de Voluntarios Bolivarianos del Perรบ. Volunteers work directly in the communities of 3 de Octubre and Primero de Mayo, partnering with educational institutions Fe y Alegrรญa Nยฐ 14 and Cรฉsar Vallejo. The project combines academic support with non-formal education, creative expression, and youth leadership โ€” using the SkillsBoost methodology to foster emotional wellbeing and participatory learning.

๐ŸŽฏ The Role

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ 30 hours of Spanish classes during the stay to strengthen community integration

๐Ÿงญ Orientation training covering local context, culture, coexistence rules, safety, health, risk management, and project objectives โ€” including workshops, simulations, and community visits
