Are you between 18 and 30, energetic, creative, and passionate about working with children โ€” and ready for an ESC volunteering team experience in the heart of Transylvania? Short Term Summer Fun Volume 5 is a volunteer team project based in Cristuru Secuiesc, Romania, bringing summer experience camps to disadvantaged children in small villages where camp opportunities simply don’t exist. Over 59 days, volunteers will organise and run camps focused on community, play, friendship, and personal growth โ€” giving as many children as possible a summer they will never forget. Fully furnished shared house, โ‚ฌ160 food allowance and โ‚ฌ120 pocket money per month, international travel reimbursed. Deadline: 6 April 2026.
๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด Did You Know? Cristuru Secuiesc is located in the Harghita County of Transylvania โ€” the heartland of the Szรฉkely Land, a region with a distinct Hungarian-speaking culture that has persisted for centuries within Romania. It is one of the most culturally unique corners of Central Europe, surrounded by forests, mountains, and traditional villages that feel genuinely untouched by mass tourism. A remarkable place to spend a summer doing meaningful work.

What Will You Do?

๐Ÿ•๏ธOrganise and run summer experience camps for disadvantaged children in small villages in the Harghita region โ€” reaching children who would otherwise have no access to summer camp experiences
๐Ÿ‘งWork directly with children to create a summer full of experiences, friendships, play, and personal growth โ€” community and joy are at the heart of every camp day
๐ŸŽจBring your own creative ideas to life โ€” volunteers are encouraged to design and lead activities based on their own skills and interests
๐ŸŒŸHelp children acquire new skills and experience the warmth of community โ€” contributing to their personal development in a meaningful, lasting way
๐ŸคWork as part of an international volunteer team โ€” combining individual initiative with genuine teamwork across the full project period
๐Ÿ’ก Did You Know? The Youthpass certificate โ€” which volunteers on this project will receive โ€” is an official European document that recognises the non-formal and informal learning gained through an ESC volunteering experience. It is widely recognised by employers and educational institutions across Europe as evidence of key competencies including teamwork, intercultural communication, project management, and self-directed learning.
