Are you between 18 and 35, passionate about environmental education, climate action, and intercultural exchange โ and ready to spend time in one of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant capitals? This ESC Humanitarian Aid volunteering placement in Hanoi puts you alongside the Centre for Sustainable Development Studies (CSDS), working with local youth through language teaching, environmental workshops, social animation, and community seminars. Three meals a day, accommodation in a local neighbourhood away from the tourist trail, and a monthly bus pass are all included. Deadline: 1 July 2026.

What Will You Do?
๐ฟFacilitate educational activities to raise environmental awareness and promote climate action among local youth โ working with the Centre for Sustainable Development Studies (CSDS) in Hanoi
๐ฃ๏ธTeach languages and host interactive discussions โ bringing your linguistic and cultural background directly into the learning environment
โป๏ธImplement green practices at the community level โ contributing to sustainability initiatives as part of the daily work of the project
๐ญEngage in and lead social animation activities and educational workshops with local youth โ using creative, participatory methods
๐Organise seminars on topics including nutrition, environmental management, and active citizenship โ working alongside local staff and volunteers
๐ฅApply your video-making and photography skills to document and promote the project’s work โ proficiency in these areas is highly valued
๐ก Did You Know? Vietnam is one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change in the world โ it ranks among the top nations at risk from sea level rise, extreme weather events, and flooding. Working on environmental education and climate awareness in Hanoi is not abstract: the issues volunteers will be raising awareness about are already affecting Vietnamese communities in very real and immediate ways.
Accommodation, Food & Travel
๐ Twin room accommodation with air conditioning in summer, hot water for winter showers, Wi-Fi, and a fan โ shared kitchen, common space, and bathroom with other volunteers

Training & Learning
๐ปPre-departure training provided online before you leave โ arriving prepared and informed from day one

๐คA dedicated mentor supports you daily throughout the placement โ ensuring smooth integration and ongoing personal development
๐Mid-term evaluation training after 3 months, followed by a final evaluation before departure โ structured reflection built into the whole experience
๐A follow-up meeting takes place 1โ2 months after returning home โ supporting your reintegration and continued development

๐Completion of face-to-face pre-departure training is mandatory before starting the voluntary service

๐ฃ๏ธStrong communication and interpersonal skills are a must โ facilitation and training abilities are highly valued
