๐Ÿ“š About the Project
Hosted by SDRUZHENIE AKTIVNO BALGARSKO OBSHTESTVO (Active Bulgarian Society โ€“ ABS), the Youth Empowerment Project 2026 is a 4-month ESC opportunity designed for young people who want to develop leadership skills, promote sustainability, support local communities, and raise awareness about Erasmus+ and ESC opportunities.
As an ESC volunteer in ABS, you will join one of the most active youth organizations in Bulgaria, working on impactful initiatives, creative projects, and public outreach campaigns. This project is ideal for motivated youth who want to build skills, gain confidence, and make a real difference.

๐ŸŽฏ What You Will Do
Volunteers actively contribute to social, environmental, and educational initiatives, including:

  • Organizing community events & clean-up actions
  • Running art clubs, DIY workshops & eco-friendly campaigns
  • Supporting Erasmus+ & ESC promotion activities
  • Visiting schools & hosting info sessions
  • Creating social media content, articles & visuals
  • Helping ABS with communication, outreach & youth engagement
  • Designing and implementingย your own community project
    This role combines creativity, teamwork, social engagement, and youth empowerment.

๐Ÿ  Accommodation, Food & Transport
ABS provides:

  • Fully funded shared accommodation (rent, water, electricity, heating)
  • Monthlyย food + pocket money
  • Shared, fully-furnished apartments with kitchen
  • Accommodation close to the city center and ABS office (10โ€“15 minutes)
  • Work inside a modern co-working space inside the town mall
    All living arrangements ensure comfort, safety, and accessibility for volunteers.

๐ŸŽ“ Training During the Activity
Volunteers receive:

  • On-Arrival Training by the Bulgarian National Agency
  • ABS orientation on goals, mission, and long-term projects
  • Skill-building workshops in:
    • Non-formal education
    • Website management
    • Photo editing, design (Canva & others)
    • Social media content creation
    • Teamwork & brainstorming
  • Buddy support groups
    Training aims to equip volunteers with real professional competencies while strengthening personal growth and confidence.

๐Ÿ™‹ Participant Profile
Volunteers should be:

  • 18โ€“26 years old
  • Residents of eligible ESC countries
  • Able to communicate in basic English
  • Motivated, proactive, creative, adaptable, and ready to learn
  • Open to intercultural teamwork
  • Enthusiastic about sustainability, communication, and youth work
    ABS strongly welcomes applications from young people facing fewer opportunities, including economic, educational, cultural, disability-related, or refugee backgrounds.
