About the Project 🇩🇪🌱

The inclusive intercultural day care centre “Kita Monelli” in one of the greenest areas of Karlsruhe, Germany 🇩🇪, hosts around 40 children aged 3–6 and welcomes kids from all nationalities and social backgrounds. The centre promotes creativity, independence, curiosity, social skills, and personality development. Volunteers play a key role in supporting children’s interests, assisting through discovery-based learning, and participating in excursions to museums, parks, playgrounds and creative educational activities.
This ESC position offers a meaningful environment where volunteers help children grow, express themselves, and stay connected with nature — the core of the centre’s pedagogical vision.

Project Activities 👧🧒🎨

• 🎨 Supporting creative, playful & discovery-based learning
• 🌿 Outdoor activities & nature-based education
• 🧩 Helping teachers during daily routines
• 🎒 Assisting with excursions (museums, parks, playgrounds)
• 🤝 Encouraging inclusion, communication & teamwork
• 🌍 Intercultural workshops & cultural exchange
• 🧸 Supporting children aged 0–6 in their development

Accommodation, Food & Transport 🏠🍽️🚆

• 🏡 Accommodation in a shared house with ESC volunteers
• 🛏️ Private room + shared common areas
• 🍽️ Approx. 525€ monthly pocket & food allowance
• 🚆 Free travel card valid across all of Germany

Training & Support 🎓🇩🇪

• 🇩🇪 50-hour German language course
• 🗣️ Intercultural learning meetings
• 🧭 Two ESC seminars (2 weeks each) with other volunteers

Participant Profile 👥✨

We are looking for motivated young people who are:

• 🎨 Creative & open-minded
• 🇩🇪 With basic German knowledge (preferred, not mandatory)
• 👶 Motivated to work with children aged 0–6
• 🌍 Willing to share their culture & organize activities
• 🤝 Flexible, team-oriented & excited about intercultural environments
