The Ecocinema Lab Training Course, taking place in Pau, France ๐ซ๐ท, invites youth workers, trainers, project managers, filmmakers, and creative practitioners to explore how cinema can help us imagine alternative, desirable futures. In a world where most films portray dystopian visions, this programme challenges participants to rethink dominant narratives and discover how low-impact filmmaking can inspire hope, creativity, and environmental responsibility.
Throughout this immersive experience, participants will learn how to craft handmade animation films using techniques that require minimal resources, found materials, natural textures, and collective creativity. The focus is on low-impact storytelling, reconnecting filmmaking with sustainability, imagination, and care.
The course blends reflection + practice:
๐๏ธ exploring the ecological footprint of the audiovisual industry,
๐๏ธ experimenting with environmentally conscious animation techniques,
๐ฟ and producing short films that showcase how cinema can be both artistic and sustainable.
By the end of the programme, participants will have co-created a series of meaningful short movies that demonstrate another way of making cinema โ slower, more thoughtful, more ecological.
This opportunity brings together participants from a wide range of Erasmus+ Programme countries, creating a rich multicultural environment where ideas and techniques are shared freely.
