This ESC volunteering opportunity takes place at the Gallo-Roman Farm of Malagne, managed by the Malagne Archรฉoparc โ a dynamic non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving, researching, and recreating the ancient Gallo-Roman way of life ๐ง๐ช๐๏ธ. Through experimental archaeology, traditional craftsmanship, ancient techniques, farm animals, and educational activities, the site brings history to life for thousands of visitors each year. Volunteers join a passionate team to support the preservation, daily functioning, and educational mission of this unique archaeological heritage site.
๐ ๏ธ What You Will Do
This project is perfect for volunteers who enjoy physical outdoor work, teamwork, and nature. Your main tasks include:
- ๐ฟ Gardening, pruning, and landscape maintenance
- ๐ชต Fixing fences, building small structures, repairing pathways
- ๐ Taking care of animals on site
- ๐งฑ Helping maintain the archaeological farm environment
- ๐ Supporting educational activities (optional): helping with school groups, demonstrating ancient bread-making, traditional forging, and assisting during historical re-enactment events
Peak activity period is between April and October โ a lively time filled with events and visitors.

Volunteers enjoy:
