About the Project
Are you ready to protect the future through action and awareness? Join the Portuguese Red Cross – Delegação de Cucujães for “YOU FUTURE: Protect Your Future with Disaster Awareness”, an impactful short-term ESC volunteering project in northern Portugal!
Located in the peaceful rural town of Oliveira de Azeméis, near Porto and Aveiro, this project brings together young people from across Europe to raise awareness about disaster prevention, first aid, and emergency preparedness. Volunteers will take part in workshops, cultural days, and training sessions that combine learning with real community impact.
🕒 Activity Period: 7 January 2026 – 5 February 2026
📍 Location: Vila de Cucujães, Oliveira de Azeméis, Portugal

💰 Compensation: Daily allowance (€10/day: €6 pocket money + €4 food)

🧭 Participant Profile
🌟 Aged 18–30 from one of the eligible countries
💪 Practical, adaptable, and team-oriented
💬 Open-minded and eager to learn new skills
🧠 Interested in health, environment, and safety topics
🗣️ Basic Portuguese knowledge (or willingness to learn) is an advantage
🏠 Accommodation & Logistics
🏡 Shared apartment with basic amenities (2–3 volunteers per room)
🍽️ Daily food allowance (€4/day) + pocket money (€6/day)
🚆 Travel costs reimbursed upon arrival with valid receipts
💻 Wi-Fi, utilities, and bedding included
🗣️ Access to Online Linguistic Support for Portuguese language learning
